I've been over that study with people on other forums, and it's actually a little more complicated than that if you do some more disaggregation of it. Putting it that way is true, sort of, but also rather misleading.

I'm not a libertarian. This may be a new concept for you, but I make up my own mind on issues. When I find that libertarians have a valid point, I make common cause with them on it, as I do with liberals and conservatives as well.

That may be too subtle for you though. It seems that in your worldview, there are two types of people: those who agree with you, and inbred, knuckle-dragging, low-IQ, drooling rednecks who talk like Honey Boo Boo's mom, spend evenings loading their shotguns for when Jeebus comes back, and only stop watching Fox News long enough to find some gays to drag around behind their pickup trucks.

I didn't even know he had forums, and anyhow, after he doctored a videotape to make it look like Shirley Sherrod said something she actually hadn't, I put Breitbart on the ship list of news sources I will neither look at nor believe anything I hear from. I don't take my news from known liars, and more than I take it from professional comedians.

Also, I don't think I've ever seen more than ten minutes put together of Fox News in my whole life. I've heard it's pretty awful, and I don't doubt it a bit.

First, all the scores from that study are dismal - arguing about those shades of dismal is kind of like the last ten people to cross the finish line in a marathon arguing about who had the best time. You know what? It doesn't matter - the bottom line is you all suck.

Second, as I recall, the study disaggregates into conservatives who watch conservative outlets, conservatives who watch liberal outlets, liberals who watch liberal outlets, and liberals who watch conservative outlets. The lowest score - the one which dragged Fox's numbers down the most - being among liberals who only watch Fox News. Well, duh. How dumb do you have to be to be a liberal who willingly sits and watches Fox News all day?

hahaha. chris hitchens observed this peculiar american phenomenon where the most reactionary, proto-fascist among us try to reject ideology altogether. to hide from it by claiming to be technocratic, centrist, in pursuit of THE BEST SOLUTIONS. probably because, either consciously or subconsciously, they realize exactly what they are and how they'll be perceived by others so they try to head that revelation off at the pass by declaring themselves to be "not playing".

cable news in the united states is by and large reactionary and useless and FOX is the worst of a bad bunch. i wont argue with that. glad to see you have no substantive objections

Blithe in terms of categories of socialists, i identify as nothing more specific than marxist-leninist currently but im deffo still evolving. in addition to being a marxist, i am a pro-feminist and an anti-racist, and i reject the idea that "identity politics" are incompatible with class struggle - i consider them important fronts in the same battle against oppressive hierarchies in human society. this is to say, i reject the unfortunately fairly common marxist idea that proper socialist revolution will automatically end gender, racial, and other forms of discrimination - these battles are equally deserving of attention

i am a member of a political party that i find im pretty satisfied with the platform and praxis of at the current time - the Party for Socialism and Liberation
