In my mind knowledge and power go hand and hand. However, I agree thats an interesting theory that the Jedi are training more for power because of the clone wars and even encouraging it. That would also explain te existance of Jedi like Krell who wields two big light staffs and is the 103F fever symptom of the corruption of values facing Jedi. However, the Jedi are an ancient order aren't they? And the Clone Wars period is just a few years in that history. They've been through wars before, right? The key difference is they have to be generals and lead the clone army which is killing them on the inside.

Your probably right that every force user recruited as a cub as the potential to be very dangerous. That's like the classic super hero story. Just a few years of training would probably put any a cut above when there are few. Even in the clone wars according to the Young Jedi introduction Jedi are limited in numbers and the war probably forces Padawans to learn quicker than ever and even if not knighted, to operate with night like experience. Brutal on the job training makes for quick work and quick gaining of experience. You think that Anakin is jealous of Ahsoka or other strong young Jedi around him? - shutters inwardly.-

Is it just me, or are the only people Anakin and Dooku ever duel is each other? I saw the potential in Oppress and Maul for them, but now, not so much.

 

We did see Anakin and Obi-Wan vs Savage but i think Maul vs Anakin would be an intense duel

 

Anakin fought Ventress in Season 3's "ARC Troopers." And Savage vs. Anakin/Obi-Wan during Nightsisters trilogy as Darth Vader mentioned, and Dooku fought both Savage and Ventress in that series.

Savage could have been really cool to see in various duels just because of his brute strength. I think him vs Grievous would be pretty epic.

Honestly, I think it would be cool if Anakin met Maul again, a character who apparently did cheat death.

 

Dooku needs more screen time and development.

In the absence of really developing Palpatine in order to not tarnish his turn of character in ROTS, that really leaves Dooku as the big bad guy. And what do we know of him from the films?

• He was a Jedi and political idealist that left the Order (his relationship to the Jedi hasn't really been developed)
• He was Qui-Gon's master and Yoda' padawan (his relationships to those characters haven't been developed to any degree; how does Yoda view Dooku? Does he at all feel humbled by the fact that the second Sith lord to surface in 1,000 years is his apprentice?)
• He got the commerce guilds to sign a treaty
• He was errand boy for the Death Star plans (nothing has happened with that)
• He was promptly killed by Anakin in the very beginning of the following film (we hardly knew ye)

...

That's about it.

The EU has developed the hell out of him it seems. But TCW hasn't really done much with him, and when it looked like we were going to get something with the Nightsisters arc in the form of Dooku wanting to turn on Sidious, that plot was promptly dropped.

Instead we got Maul, who was irrelevant to the Clone War events shown in the films, and so much more care and attention has been given to him than Dooku, and they've turned the horrible idea of bringing Maul back into a somewhat palatable idea in its execution and IMO he has subsequently become the best villain, which doesn't seem right. They've proven that they can do good work, so I don't know why they chose Maul instead of Dooku. I get that an old guy with a beard isn't as marketable, but he's relevant to the story, had minimal development in the films, and has great potential because the door is wide open for Lucas to take the character in whatever direction he wants, given the lack of depth he got in the films.

 

Average Jedi produce average Padawan students. Exceptional Jedi produce exceptional Padawan students. Anakin and Obi-Wan Kenobi are exceptionally powerful Jedi and they operate at a higher standard than most Jedi, as we've seen. Therefore it is safe to say at least a portion of Ahsoka's ability can be attributed to that.

 

I so agree, seeing Savage fighting Anakin and the others would be a sight to behold, especially now that he's being trained and has developed his battle skills. Now if only they had actually done what this misleading Season Four teaser image implied...

I don't know how much that necessarily hold true. Especially when TPM introduced the idea of midichlorians that are somehow linked to Force Potential, which in itself is something I've always just taken for granted because I felt it was implied in the film, but it is never explicitly said that more is inherently better. Or that someone with a low count can't still achieve greater things through hard work.

 

It would be a dream duel for you, wouldn't it...

 

I'd like to see Maul vs. Anakin.

Anakin I think would want to fight the guy that killed Qui-Gon, tried to kill Padme years ago (and nearly ran Anakin over).

It's not as personal between Anakin and Maul as it is between Obi-Wan and Maul, but I just think it's conspicuous that Anakin is being kept sidelined, and I think Anakin would want to help his master out.

I know it's a touchy subject for some that Anakin should not be the one to kill Maul, and that I don't care so much about. But I would at least like them to cross paths once before Maul's fate is decided.

We all do have them...
Even if I am a huge fan of this season so far, I must say that in September of 2011 when the trivia had posted their Tikkes image... dreams of Tikkes appearing kept me going

In May of 2012 when Filoni posted his Tikkes update and showed how he had noticed Tikkes - that raised my spirit up and I keep an eye out for Tikkes on the show...

Yes! As much as I love the show, it still sometimes manages to bring you down to reality...

Seeing Anakin duel anyone who isn't Dooku, that isn't plot protected, is fine by me.

This is a little off-topic, but I was just watching on the news the Algerian hostage crisis and one woman stated, "We do not deal with terrorists." It sounds like what Obi-Wan and Sanjay Rash said about the Onderon rebels. Just wanted to throw that out there.
