This will be the Hamlet of Star Wars books!

Hell, schools should replace the actual Hamlet with this novel instead. That will get kids to read

The saga of a wise (Jedi) knight and an evil (Sith) lord, of a beautiful princess held captive and a young hero coming of age, Star Wars abounds with all the valor and villainy of Shakespeare’s greatest plays

So it's either A New Hope or the Original Trilogy? Makes sense in the sense that the originals are classics, but you'd think that AotC and Rots would have more "Shakespearean" material: A Forbidden Romance, The Lure of Power, Main Character Becoming A Villain and Almost Everyone Dies In The End, set against a background of A World Gone Mad!

Welcome to the post Disney takeover Lit boards. It could be worse. We could be talking about the Kemp duology again.

We have already talked about the Kemp duology, what, two times in this thread.

From a certain point of view, this could be the original source of the Kemp duology.

Remember, it has already been released, we just don't know it, so the news that this book is new could have been released back then too, and we're just only now learning about it, making the claims that we don't know about it a temporal paradox. [face_idea]

You are onto something. "A book you had no idea existed". So the book already exists. It could be on stores as we speak. It has just been buried somewhere.
People of Lit, it's now your duty to go into the nearest book store and search everywhere for it. If someone is asking could they help you, just tell them that you are searching for a Star Wars novel in the biology section and they should leave you alone.

Wasn't the Kemp Duology referenced this summer at one of the conventions as still moving forward?

Yes, at CVI. They were very tight-lipped and wouldn't say anything beyond "it exists" and "it's not cancelled".

EDIT: Though there may have been a few hints that it would blow our minds, or something like that.

So the Jaden Korr duo is not the upcoming Kemp duo... Everyone agree?

"It's a brand new novel you've never heard about before!"
"But... we've been talking about it for years?"
"But you didn't know anything about it!"
    "WOW."

There's your mind blowing revelation right there.

Obviously, the SW-meets-Shakespeare book is book 1 of the Kemp Duology (book 2 will be the Shakespeareization of the PT), while the book we've never heard about (and which this thread is supposed to be about) is something totally new that might or might not blow what's left of our minds once this snarl is untangled.

...thus bringing the Kemp Duology mentions in this thread to a total of 9.

Someone should tweet Jennifer Heedle and asks her if this is the book.

I went on because I was going to tweet at her, but someone else had and this was her response: "Nope! But I am excited for it. It's fantastic. Being published by Quirk (which is distributed by Random House)."

So, we get Star Wars Shakespeare and another novel! Double the WIN.

    Do we get a choice?

Can we bother Stover? How about Luceno?

    ...Stackpole?

Just Zahn, I was thinking about asking about his Sequel Trilogy Thoughts and the direction of Del Rey. Also perhaps about his Luke, Mara, Ben novel....

I frequently bother Stover on facebook. He's been pretty quiet recently, but last I heard he was working on multiple projects. He only commented on one, which was that he was doing drafting for his crime novel.
