Me too. He also took some time to comment and talk on a "less than thrilled" status I posted when I heard about the sequel trilogy. Really nice guy, and accessible, too.

 

He congratulated me on my wedding when I mentioned that I was gonna have to get an issue of KOTOR a week late because of it. (Clearly the most important impact such a decision would have on my life...)

I just think that taking a Death Star to the EU would be a cruel to those who dwell on the EU planet, that isn't cool...

On a completely different note, I think we can count out that the "New Novel" is not going to be written by Zahn yet. He has pitches but nothing solid as of yet...

Nah, there is a new novel, we just don't know what it is. Which makes this thread more than a bit pointless, but what are you gonna do.

Kemp is quickly becoming my hero, another post RotJ book the feel of Crosscurrent and Riptide and he will be on scale with Luceno, Zahn, Stover, Allston, and Stackpole. (JJM is getting up there too, but I haven't read Lost Tribe, so I cautiously withhold my approval)

So with Zahn out of the running, Stackpole an unlikely probability. Golden, JJM, and Denning have stuff in the works. I am guessing Luceno, Stover, or Allston book.

Maybe another X Wing Novel by Allston? I would like Doran to show up this time though... Jesmin (nice call back to Ms. Ackbar) Tainer just didn't do it. Plus I think a Myri/Doran romance would be interesting.

I absolutely love the Wraiths, but I'm in the mood to have Corran and the old bunch return. I feel like Corran's gotten the shaft over the last several years.

 

Syal needs to be in a Rogue Squadron novel that takes place after FOTJ just like Myri was in Mercy Kill.

 

I completely agree, his entire plot has been my kids have gone crazy, forget the fact the Solos are down to 1 of 3 kids.
Would love an Allston lead, Valin/Syal Adventure or Doran book.

Maybe he is just taking a break from Star Wars I mean he has been a main fixture of the last 2 big series, and then Mercy Kill. He might need to recharge.

 

He said characters though, not Star Wars. Does this mean he is interested in doing as a few of the other veteran authors and go back and write a book that for sure won't be steamrolled, or perhaps something with more Jedi than pilots? Who knows
