Iverson, Kobe and Rick Barry...a more unrepentant band of gunners has rarely been seen.

edit: Unrepentant Band of Gunners is going to my next team/band name if I had a band.

    Air Jordan 88-89
    Moses Malone 81-82
The Round Mound of Rebound 89-90
    Pippen 93-94
    Isiah Thomas 84-85

A very solid team. The average PER here is 26.08, which would land the average starter as like the 115th best season of all time. Not too shabby. That Barkley Season was a special one for defense – his best in Defensive Win Shares – and his offense – career best in ORating at 128 (the 7th best of all time) and at top ten True Shooting Percentage, but it's not anywhere near his peak as a rebounder. Similarly, as a distibutor, that's one of Isiah Thomas' best season with a 47.9% assist rate, but he had better seasons defensively. Scottie Pippen probably went a little early, but other than that it's hard to argue with any picks. And, Pippen wasn't that early that the fun of having Pippen and Jordan could be passed up.

    Point Given

    Kareem 71-72
    The Logo 69-70
    Mailman 89-90
    The Glove 99-00
    Hondo 70-71

Average PER is 25.22. Kareem is a special player and 71-72 was a special season. Arguably the most efficient ever by some metrics, with Kareem posting the best single-season Win Share per 48 of all time. Karl Malone is solid, but he had much better years than 89-90. Payton was a solid pick, but you might want to look at years – 99-00 was his best overall year, but he had other years with better Defensive stats, depending on what you feel you need for this team. West probably went a bit early for this type of game, as I have my doubts on how much “clutch” will factor into the simulator.

    heels1785

    Shaq 99-00
    Kobe 05-06
    KG 03-04
    Rick Barry 66-67
    The Answer 00-01

Average PER is 27.24 – that would be the 73rd best season of all time. I love the pick of KG here and that season. He's the perfect compliment to your band of gunners – his 30+ on Defensive Rebounding Percentage is key to one of the best rebounding seasons of all time. Exactly what you want with that kind of shooting on the floor. One thing to be wary of you: two players with 35+ usage rate in the Answer and the Mamba. Even with that, this is the dream Mike D'Antoni dreams about. Or maybe because of that.

    Jedi Gunny

    Bill Russel 61-62
    Dr. J 81-82
    Stockton 89-90
    Pistol Pete 76-77
    Bob Pettit 60-61

This team has an average PER of 22.84. I just don't see this team as that strong. The issue is that a lot of guys went when there was a better counterpart available. Bob Pettit was a nice steal, and the best overall pick (value wise) for this team. Stockton wasn't a bad pick, as that was arguably the best season anyone has ever had distributing the ball (57.4 Assist% is 2nd all time – to himself). Bill Russel is not the best anchor for a team – there were better options available when you took him, and he's had better seasons than that one. Could this team win it all? Sure. But, like a step-back three with a hand in your face, it's difficult to call it “likely”.

    tom

    steve nash 06-07
    T-Mac 02-03
    King James '08-'09
    dirk nowitzki '05-'06
    The Admiral '93-'94

I love this team. Love it. Average PER is 28.92 (that would be ranked #32 all time). Only 16 seasons have a 30+ PER. You have three of them. Simply amazing. Nash, the low guy for PER, makes up for it with an amazing TS%, and a 50+ Assist%. Lebron has the #6 season all time for Win Shares per 48. The only flag is two players with really high usage percents, which could make it tough to get everyone in the groove (That'd T-Mac and Robinson, by the way).

    MandaloreYak

    The Big O 61-62
    The Big Fundamental 02-03
    Elgin Baylor 60-61
    Not Superman 10-11
    Houdini of the Hardwood 58-59

This team comes in with an average PER of 25.4. But, what;s lost is how good this team is defensively, especially in the interior. That season from Howard is one of the best DRatings of all time, and Elgin Baylor had one of the best Defensive Win Share seasons ever for a player not offensively challenged. Add in Duncan's defense, and it's going to be hard to score inside on this team. The Big O also brings plenty to the game, with one of his triple-double seasons on board. This won't be an easy win for anyone.

    EmpireForever

    Wilt the Stilt 61-62
    Larry Legend 84-85
    D-Wade 08-09
    CP3 08-09
    Clyde the Glyde 88-89

Average PER: 28.46. That would rank #40 all time. And, again, we have three of the 30+ PER seasons on this team. Incredible talent. Wilt's season was arguably the greatest offensive season, ever. Bird's season was arguably the greatest shooting season ever for a non-interior player. And Chris Paul had one of the best PG seasons ever with a 54+ Asst% and nearly a 4 Steal%. As of now, this is the team to beat.

    DarthTunick

    Magic 86-87
    The Dream 93-94
    Kevin McHale 86-87
    Kevin Durant 11-12
    Black Jesus 68-69

Average PER is 24.18. That undersells how good Magic's season was with a 60+ on True Shooting Percentage and a 45+ Asst%. The season from McHale is one of the best ORatings of all time, so you know this team will be able to score. Hakeem, Monroe, and Durant have better seasons than what you chose. Unfortunately, Durant's is this season, and thus unavailable. Not a bad team here, and I love the versatility. Just not sure it stacks up with the top dogs in the draft.

Well, that's better than I expected for breakdowns for my team. I'm wondering how well my team will work with the simulator. Our sheer stats aren't the best I don't think, depending on what the simulator takes into account.
