I liked him on BSG, even if Crashdown was a bit of a wreck by the end.

Obi-Wan beating the brothers at the same time was pure fan service.

 

That was some nice plot device there. But I think the deeper picture here is that I believe Savage deep inside just wants to be part of something. I think that Savage is content following Maul around and being his apprentice because Maul is his brother more than anything.

Remember Savage wasn't an animal before. He was the best in his clan and he was always humble...looking out for his brother even if it ment giving his own life. Deep inside that person is still alive. I'm just saying it's something to think about.

 

As I believe I said in the Eminence thread, Maul is literally the only person who wants him around, and the reverse is true for Savage. Two lonely hearts that found happiness in each others' embrace.

 

Those Black Sun Soldiers are carrying the same double-barreled laser cannons that Kenner designed for their 1996 Hammerhead action figure.

I love it when TCW's animators draw inspiration from toys.

Never more apparent than when he voiced Sidious in FU2, "I still have some small use for you..." Sooo not Sidious. But I don't mind what he's done with Maul. As for the other, Clancy Shawshank is pure gold as Savage's voice, its the best in this whole show.

 

IMO, Ian Abercrombie (RIP) played the best Palpatine besides Ian McDiarmid.

 

RIP Ian Abercrombie. You are absolutely correct. Abercrombie brought so much to the role! I really believed that Palpatine was an elderly statesman, not just a growling stereotype of evil. I think my favorite portrayal of his was Friends and Enemies. Will Palpatine will appear in SoR?

 

What kind of an episode title is this anyways? How can you have shades of reason? Is Maul bipolar?

 

I've seen quite a few shades of "reason" on this forum alone.

I never thought Savage was one of Clancy Brown's best works but its probably a difficult character to make sound interesting. I thought he did a great job last episode. Maybe he should have done Wolf's roar from Gargoyles instead of the Leonine one. =b
