I'm sure Lucas made sure his sale contract was full of all sorts of stipulations about that sort of thing.

Doubtful. Disney going in and overturning everything Lucas made is bad PR

The CT/OT is already available on Blu-Ray. Oh, you mean the O-OT... :p

I tend to agree with this:

No, given that Fox still holds distribution rights to ANH. Don't see Fox being very willing to sell that.

Yeah, distribution is going to be a wonky thing. I guess it should be settled out when the Super HD PT/OT/ST boxset is released in, like, a decade.

Fox also holds the distribution rights of the rest until 2020.

If they did, it would probably become the new canon - which would recreate some plotholes and inconsistencies.

No, it's better with all of the changes. Don't let nostalgia blind you.

It would? What plotholes and inconsistencies do you speak of? I'm not aware of any.

Not like we have to worry about that unless Fox miraculously hands over the distribution rights, but I'm curious.

almozayaf What's wrong with the DVD?

You probably wouldn't see any difference with the CT in Blue Ray anyway.

I would like the o-ot, also i read somewhere that Disney would buy the distribution rights from Fox.

It's a well-known fact that the SEs corrected the plot hole of Obi-Wan's monster howl not sounding stupid enough.

There are plotholes in the original versions, such as Boba Fett not sounding like Jango, despite being a clone, Anakin's ghost having the wrong face, etc.

    No, it wouldn't.

    Resolution, quality, etc...

    Why?

That's not a plot hole. Boba Fett could have lost his childhood accent after roaming the galaxy for twenty years, or his helmet could have had a voice synthesizer like Vader's, or he could have gotten throat cancer and had his voice box replaced. If it is a plot hole, it's a plot hole in AOTC because they didn't cast an actor who could impersonate Boba Fett's voice.

How can he have the wrong face when it's the same face that was under his mask?

Because he reverted to his state before he fell, according to GL. He was not an old man before he became Vader.

Idk what that means. He was an old guy when he died, stands to reason he would have an old guy ghost. Was anyone confused from 1983 to 2004 that Anakin's ghost wasn't some young dude?

So it wasn't a plot hole for twenty-one years, then it suddenly became a plot hole? Not sure you can do that. Also I don't remember where in the prequels it said that if Anakin died and came back as a ghost he would be a young ghost instead of an old ghost?

It was a direct statement from George Lucas, by definition, it became G-Canon.

Not sure how something outside the movies can create a plot hole in the movies.

GL has said a lot of things over the years and is notorious for changing his mind. If we take everything he has said as canon, we'd have some real issues to talk about.

I know he shoe-horned young Anakin into ROTJ and it's pretty hard to argue against something being canon when it's right there in the film, but it still stands - there was no plot hole there prior to the change and if it were to be reverted back to the original, there would still be no plot hole.
