I've been working with waiters and restaurant servers for many years. The ones that keep working here are the ones that thrive in that kind of environment. You have to be a special kind of person to enjoy that job; otherwise, it's hell.

 

Hiding in the freezer is underrated. Walk in freezers are the bomb, I love to hang out in them. For real

 

take on a third high-volume restaurant job.

Heck yeah. I used to go in there when it's like 100 degrees in the kitchen. Best feeling ever.

 

i normally work a grill that runs hot enough to instantly vaporize water, situated next to a 500 degree convection oven with four 600 degree ovens to my back. in summer the ambient temperature in the kitchen is always above 100 degrees. i cannot even begin to describe how glorious a two minute cooldown in the walk in freezer can feel in those conditions.
