I tried exactly one Twinkie, nearly gagged, and never looked back. Spongecake and cream is just... ugh. It was horrible.

Yeah, I've had Twinkies... ****ing nasty. A few years ago, I sent Pete (ask-the-younglings) a box of Twinkies (he lives in the UK and hadn't had one). He found them revolting.

 

I like twinkies. Did I hear recently that they're not gonna make 'em anymore or have I misremembered?

 

is it the texture that does you guys in?

 

Hostess filed for bankruptcy, but a bunch of companies are making bids for the recipe at the moment.

It's really just the everything for me. I don't like cream, I don't like spongecake, and you put them together in a heavily processed package and just... I found it quite appalling.

 

I've had Twinkies before.

 

I liked Chocodiles, though.

i have had twinkies, chocodiles, and once even a deep fried twinkie.

 

I've my share of Twinkie's over the years. Though the spongieness of it had a delectable taste, I much preferred Hostess Cupcakes over Twinkies.

 

i think we need a new thread: "darthtunick food connoisseur".

that's the beauty of it. he applies these gourmet descriptions to things like twinkies, corn dogs, and processed cheese.

that reminds me of this tubby kid on youtube that called himself "the food reviewer", but only did reviews of grozz junk foods. i think someone hacked his account and deleted all his videos, though. one of my favorites was his "bertuchies pepperoni pizza with extra cheese review" because he filmed it right in the restaurant as he was eating the pizza and his little brother was yelling off camera about star wars and interrupting him and he kept having to stop the review to tell the brother to shut up.

 

I heard some nutrition muckity muck say he left a Twinkie out on his desk to see how long before it went bad. Years later it was unchanged.

And yes I've had them. Definitely not that great, moon pies and Hostess cupcakes are way better as far as junk pseudo foods go.

I've had a Twinkie or two. They're okay, but give me a chocolate cupcake anyday.
