PT How Did Darth Tyranus become a Count?

Darth Tyranus became a Royal Count (known as Count Dooku) how and where did he become a Count at?

 

A Count is nobility, so he was born into it. Dooku was Count of Serenno.

Actually, counts can sometimes be appointed by a king or royalty as a reward for political favors. Dooku was born into nobility on Serenno, but it's a good question. He gave up his title when he joined the Jedi Order but reclaimed it after he left.

 

He did what everyone else did. His mommy and daddy showed him his fingers and they taught him the basics.

Too bad he isn't called Tyranus more often though. It's a cool Sith name.

 

Is he ever even CALLED Tyranus in the film? I can't remember one instance where he is.

 

End of AOTC, Sidious calls him Tyranus.

 

And Jango said he was hired by a man called Tyranus. I think those are the only times the name is said on film.
