I noticed Wookieepedia has Galactic Alliance Intelligence under this name. Is it ever actually referred to as such, or is this another classic case of W-canon rearing its head?

What were Tarfang and Jae Juun officially a part of? Maybe it was this?

Page 65 of Exile: Wedge nodded. "So has the Galactic Alliance Intelligence Service, a bit more covertly."

    It comes from Bloodlines:
Also, that's a really weird Mustafar reference.

On an unrelated note, Galactic Alliance Security (GAS) that forms after LotF has a horrible acronym that would leave its enemies laughing... but maybe thats the plan. To leave enemies so paralysed with laughter that they are easy to apprehend....

Bad Guy 1: "Oh no GAS is coming!"
Bad Guy 2: "What? Like the vapor?"
Bad Guy 1: "No Galactic Alliance Security!"
Bad Guy 2: (laughing) "Why would they call themselves tha...."

And they find out that Bad Guy 1 was an informant... why you ask? Because he who smelt it, dealt it :p

It seems like their version of "When hell freezes over".

I get that, but Mustafar is a relatively unknown backwater world; no need to reference the films all the time!

It might not be all that unknown.

Though that would be a bit of a retcon.

Let's face it, if it is in a movie it is no longer backwater, save for maybe Dagobah, which even Anakin Solo and Tahiri visit. So needless to say, if it is in a movie it is references. Even if it is only mentioned.

I would say that the exception to the rule is the Order 66 plantets, Mygeeto, Felucia, Cato Nemodia... Those really aren't often referenced.

yeah that happens all the time in the EU . . .

Tatooine, Hoth etc are supposed to be backwater worlds, but everyone always goes there and they are mentioned all the time

Well Tatooine kind of has a celebrity status because of Luke and Obi Wan. Tell me there aren't bus tours around Mos Eisley and Tosche Station. And this is docking bay 84 where the millienium falcon blasted away. This is Kenobi's hut, this is Jabba's former palace and where our tour ends, the exit is through the gift shop.

It's Traviss. She awkwardly references prequel planets all the Naboo. I mean, all the time.

Well I mean that Kamino was kind of a given as was Coruscant. However you never know.

I, personally, prefer "when Tatooine freezes over," or "when Hoth melts."

Remember that one about the Naboo sport in Revelation? That was painful.
