Got a feeling it will be PG-13, like Abrams's Star Trek. I defiantly agree with the above that PG-13 is the new PG, most action/sci-fi movies are rated that these days.

It better be pg13. I hope they don't go Disney soft just for the sake of the kiddies.

PG-13 is the new PG so yeah, it will be PG-13.

Well, aside from AOTC which was PG here & ROTS which got a 12A rating (which I assume is the same as PG-13), the rest all got a U certificate (which is the same as G) being family films as they are.

I guess it depends how dark you want to go, ESB was pretty dark and that didn't even get PG here, ROTS got 12A though.

There are no worries about PG-13 drawing an audience. Teen/adult-geared sci-fi/adventure movies are so common now for general audiences that it would be hard to not have a PG-13. The prequels could easily get away with a PG because of how they were perceived even though I don't see much of a difference in violent content between ROTS and AOTC (while both were less or about as graphically violent than ANH.)
The public's current attitude to violence will also keep it at a PG-13, and I don't think viewers want to see everyone get shot off-screen.

PG-13 seems to be the cool thing these days. And I don't think Abrams has produced a movie rated less yet. Plus, the 13 rating didn't hurt ROTS's sales, so why not?

How about creating two versions of the film? One that is PG and one that is PG-13? That way, everyone in this thread will be happy . . . well, except for those of you who I guess are hoping for it to be a porno or something . . . LOL

Just wondering: Why was this poll set to close on May 28, 2021? Episode IX will be in theaters by then, for Pete's sake.
