Speculation What colour lightsaber will the main Jedi use?

Stick to Sith using Red, any other colour for Jedi IMHO except black, I always hated that. Silver is nice, purple, yellow, orange are good colours.

 

I vote yellow. It'd be a cool nod to some of the original art.

 

I always thought it was because he was the alpha dog of the Council.

 

My memory may be playing tricks on me, but wasn't there a first-person game (I'm thinking one of the Jedi Knight series?) where the color of one's saber reflected one's personality...or purpose (on the light side)...?

 

Honestly I like the colors we have now. Just Blue, Green and Red. I think more colors seems tacky an unnecessary.

 

I always liked green Hope Luke uses a green lightsabre.

 

I want the Jedi to use all different kinds of colors. Blue, green, purple, golden, yellow, orange, silver, rainbow. Be creative this time around!

 

Personally, I think I'd try to construct a saber with a golden blade. Not yellow - gold. That said, there's only one "Main Jedi" and that's Luke Skywalker. He'll be using his trusty old green blade, 'natch.

On a more serious note, I know what you're asking, OP and if Ben Skywalker or a "Ben-type" in the role of Luke's son turns out to be the new main protagonist of the ST (something I'd very much like to see happen, by the way), then I guess I've always envisioned him wielding a lightsaber which honors his namesake in both hilt design and blade color. Taking this into account, I suppose I have to say I'd like a bright, shining blue blade.

I really hope we are treated to a litany of new saber colors for the other Jedi of the New Order to use, though.

I really wish Lucas had let Cin Drallig have a yellow saber in ROTS, but no. I always use yellow sabers in al; the games that let you pick saber color.

 

I think you're thinking of Kotor, guardians got blue, consulars got green, and sentinels got yellow.

Something different, yellow, orange or purple would be great.

 

Yellow would be fine but I don't want them going overboard. SWTOR goes too far with the black cores which don't look nearly as good as the white cores.

 

I wish BLUE didn't look so bad in the Tatooine daylight. I would've preferred that all Jedi have BLUE blades and all Sith RED.

But, under the circumstances, I accept GREEN and hope we stick with those three.

I wasn't even down with the Mace exception. No more PURPLE, please.

You realize, of course, that the three primary colors of light are RED, GREEN, and BLUE.

 

I must be the only person to never care about the colors of lightsabers, but then I've never been one to care as much as others about the colors of a lot of things.

 

Just for the record, silver isn't a colour it's grey that is highly reflective. A lightsaber produces light, so it's impossible for there to be a silver lightsaber.

Also I think they should stick to the blue green red. Jedi lighting up multiple coloured sabres like a 70's disco sounds incredibly cheesy.
Sometime creativity = LESS IS MORE <- it's the number 1 rule in art. Why do you think all those people disliked the special editions so much.

 

I am quite fond of yellow and purple lightsabers, I hope they make an appearance.

Disney can always go back and change the color of all the sabers in the PT so it doesn't look wierd in the ST!

Honestly, I could care less. Would it be cool to see different color sabers? Sure, but I'm not gonna stress that much over it.

BTW, the dark saber is pretty cool, IMO.

I'm so glad there are threads here that ask the tough questions.

But seriously, I'd be down to see a yellow lightsaber - it seems like the one color we haven't seen on screen yet that would seem kind of natural. Not a fan of the black core lightsabers, though... they just look strange and gimmicky to me.

RGB. Simple and natural. No need for a Jedi rainbow party.

 

I always liked the faded blue, silver one that was handed down to Luke. I realize it was mostly done do to lack of rotoscoping effects, but I loved the simplicity of it. Wouldn't mind seeing something like that again.
