The Ewoks had heart and would just as easily eat you as they would aid you. A definite yay from me.

As Viet-Cong stand-ins go, I'll take them over the blue people from "Avatar".

Gotta go nay on that one. They are fine right up until the battle, but then it kind of falls apart. A legion of the Empire's best troops and it's a slapstick routine with a bunch of teddybears. Not great film making there.

Yea. I was much sadder to see that one Ewok die than I was when Han was frozen in carbonite. And seeing the scene where the Ewok steals the bike definitely makes me cast an additional vote of "yaaaaay!"

I voted no, mostly for the battle. But I do agree that the scene where the Ewok dies and the Ewok stealing the bike work. I don't think the Ewok's role in the battle overall work very well, but I do agree on those two scenes.

I suppose the Ewoks' role in the battle might've worked better if Martin Sheen had been with them?

I wonder openly if anyone will get that.

I think that is an Apocalypse Now reference?

Nope. Technically he would've been fighting on the side of the Empire, in that equation.

I've always liked them although the Ewok village scene does go on for far too long. But yeah, man-eating teddy bears FTW!

I am not very fond of Ewoks so I will say ''nay'' without much hesitation. Though the fact is: I am now used to them. It could well have been another courageous species instead of teddy bears and the film would not have been impacted in my opinion. But it is what it is as the saying goes.

Nay. And I never understood how anyone could get overthrown by them. I'd beat the **** out of them.

Sheer numbers. You could probably take one or two. But Dozens?

Absolutely, a well trained military unit with heavy weapons against teddy bears with sticks and rocks would be a massacre if it was portrayed in a realistic way. Dozens, hundreds, thousands, same result. It really stretches the ability to suspend disbelief.

I'm not a military man, but I think other factors came into play too. Terrain, natural camouflage, familiarity with environment, etc..

Within reason. I don't think what we see in Jedi falls within reason.

I have to say "nay". I don't hate them or anything, but seriously... How did they even build all those traps with the empire having a watchful eye on the jungle?

Those traps were there long before the Empire arrived.

They could not have been. Some were designed specifically to deal with the Imperial walkers.

They were designed with Goraxes in mind, they're about the same size.

How the heck is the average moviegoer supposed to know this? Also it feels like a lazy excuse.
