I won't have a chance to post games until tomorrow. Mrs Inty won't take "I need to update the basketball draft" as an excuse on Valentine's Day. So still time.

Honey Nut Cheerios vs. Blue Screen of Death

With a two-point game entering the fourth quarter, many in attendance eagerly anticipated Michael Jordan leading his team to victory with a strong final 12-minutes.

    There were partially right.

Jordan's team got the win. And it was on the back of a superstar having a monster fourth quarter.

Only that superstar was named Charles Barkley.

Barkley scored 11 of his game-high 25 points in the fourth quarter, on his way to being named player of the game. He also grabbed four of his 11 rebounds in the final quarter, added an assist, just for good measure.

For his part, Jordan had a very efficient game, scoring 17 points in 33 minutes, despite being in foul trouble. Isaiah Thomas added 15 points and 13 assists for the Cheerios, and Moses Malone poured in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Blue Screen of Doom seemed to be on their way to the first win of the tournament. They had turned a six-point halftime deficit into a four-point lead with just under a minute to go in the third quarter. And, they had both Charles Barkley Michael Jordan in foul trouble. But, they couldn't close it out in the 4th quarter.

Bob Pettit lead five members of BSOD in double-digit scoring with 19.

Final Score: Honey Nut Cheerios 117, Blue Screen of Death 105

L.A. Courtsiders vs. Sahara Heat Wave

With their backs against the wall, knowing that Honey Nut Cheerios had already won their game earlier tonight, and facing a team that had just handed them a beat down days earlier, the L.A. Courtsiders knew that while mathematically this wasn't a must-win game, realistically, it was.

    They needed a great performance.

And, thanks to player of the game Hakeem Olajuwan and a smothering third quarter, they got it.

Olajuwan scored 15 points, pulled down 14 rebounds, and handed out 5 assists. But the story of the game was the defensive performance L.A. put in for the third quarter.

Over the final 8 minutes, 34 seconds of the third quarter, the Heat Wave made zero field goals; their only points coming on free throws from Elgin Baylor and Oscar Robertson. During that stretch, L.A. ran their lead from 5 up to 21. During that stretch, the Heat Wave committed seven turnovers, and had a shot blocked.

Kevin Durant was a scoring machine for LA, pouring in 24 points on 10-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-3 from down town. Tim Duncan, Oscar Robertson, and Dwight Howard each had 5 turnovers for The Heatwave, a stat that tells the story of the game. Elgin Baylor lead the way for the Heatwave with 14 points and 13 rebounds.

Final Score: L.A. Courtsiders 105, Sahara Heatwave 92

Midland City Gutless Wonders vs. We Talkin' Bout Practice?

And then ... there were none.

Midland City entered the game, thanks to the defeat this round of Sahara Heatwave, as the only unbeaten team left in the tournament. They left the game with a monster performance from Wilt Chamberlain's, but a "one" in the loss column.

Chamberlain, even in a losing effort, cruised to player of the game honors, scoring 25 points, grabbing 23 rebounds (12 of them on the offensive glass), and blocking five shots. For the game, only one player on either side - Shaquille O'Neal - had as many total rebounds as Wilt had offensive rebounds.

But, in the end, that performance by Chamberlain wasn't enough to prevent We Talkin' Bout Practice? from giving the Gutless Wonders their first loss.

The Gutless Wonders seemed to be cruising to another victory. They started the game on an 11-0 run. They had never trailed in the second half. And, they had their lead at 9 early in the fourth quarter. But, slowly and steadily, We Talkin' Bout Practice? chipped away at the lead, and finally rallied to tie the score at 91 with 4:55 to go in the game, when Shaq played a beautiful pass outside to Allen Iverson.

At 3:49 remaining, Practice took their first lead of the game, when Rick Barry converted an "and 1" situation. That lead to Kobe Bryant imposing his will on the game, first by feeding Nate Archibald, then scoring himself on a feed from KG, and then repaying KG and feeding him the ball for another bucket. From there, Practice cruised and hit their free throws to seal the victory.

A true team victory for Practice - Kobe lead all scorers for Practice with 22, Iverson added 21 points, Shaq scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and KG scored 12, grabbed 6 rebounds, and handed out 8 assists.

Final Score: We Talkin' Bout Practice? 111, Midland City Gutless Wonders 101

    Full Play-by-Play

    Game...Blouses vs. Bruce willis

For the first four minutes of the game, we had high-tempo, back and forth action. With the score tied at 12, and every player on the court having scored at least once, it looked as if we were in for an exciting night of basketball with a result coming down to the wife.

Only, it didn't quite follow that script.

Bruce willis put on one of the best defensive performances ever, and got a dominating win to put themselves back in the win column, and give themselves a shot at claiming first place. Game...Blouses were held to a miserly 37.5% shooting on the night, including a pitiful 16.7% from beyond the arc. Contrasted to that, Bruce willis was efficient shooting 52.9% for the game. As part of their defensive domination, Bruce willis had twice as many steals (12-to-6) and nearly twice as many blocks (15-to-8).

David Robinson was named player of the game, as he contributed everywhere - 16 points, 5 assists, 6 rebounds, 5 blocks, and 2 steals. Tracy McGrady added 19 points, and LeBron James had a stat line of 16/8/7/3. Russel Westbrook and George Gervin each scored ten off the bench, in 12 and 13 minutes, respectively.

The start of the third quarter told the story of the game for the 'Blouses. They started the period 0-for-5, and were blocked twice in that stretch, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar lead the game for the 'Blouses with 14 points and 12 rebounds, but he also had 4 turnovers.

    Final Score: Bruce willis 108, Game...Blouses 79

One of the earliest things DMC and I talked about was if this was succesful with basketball, branching it out to other sports, too. WhatIf supports NBA, MLB, NHL, and NFL, as well as limited NCAA Football and Basketball.

    Game coming up shortly.
