    Bird dreams and more

    1. Baby
    After saving a Jedi padawan firefighter Ivano Arvedai was admitted to the healers’ ward of the Jedi temple. He had been unaware that he was injured and had fought the healers who were trying to help him.
    But resistance was futile and he came to appreciate the care.
    Now that he was out of the long sedation and sleeping more or less normally Ivano Arvedai had dreams.
    Jedi healer Kaagi Adin – forming a bond because his patient was on a ventilator and unable to speak – sensed those dreams and was awed when Ivano saved a little baby and his family.

    2. Child
    That had been 300 years ago when Ivano was a young firefighter in Noranan fire house number two.
    Kaagi got tears in his eyes when he sensed more. ‘I was two when I left Moniron.’
    Ivano met the child he had rescued again when he was showing a group the fire-equipment. The two year old toddler was very interested in the engine.
    Kaagi had been two when his parents were murdered and he had escaped – put by his father on the back of a husan – to be found later hiding in a bush by two Jedi knights on a visit.

    3. Teenager
    A third dream was about the same child now being a teenager and still interested in everything the fire fighters did. The teenager joined the junior future firefighters club.
    And Kaagi remembered his own childhood. As a child he was found more in the apartment of the Master – padawan team that had rescued him than in the crèche. Master Glinis Ra-Ond and padawan Aaqu Maerhin became his new family. The work that they did in the healers’ ward was very interesting for the child. He wanted to become a healer too. Teenager Kaagi became the new padawan of Master Ra-Ond.

    4. Adult
    Kaagi grinned when he sensed more from the dreaming Ivano.
    The teenager had as soon as he was considered an adult gone to the school to become a firefighter, had advanced through the ranks and had retired years ago after being a fire investigator and chief. Ivano had been a young adult when he saw Chief Koski retire.
    Ivano was now an adult in his prime.
    And Kaagi was a young adult and had seen many babies, children and adults coming to the healers’ ward for treatment in the 85 years since his knighting when he was 22 years old.

    5. Elderly
    Kaagi had sensed that Ivano was of his race or closely related when he was putting him under after that remarkable resistance and fear that the Jedi would draft him into their service. After the first guidance out of the sedation he knew that Ivano wanted to keep his ancestry and real age a secret for his colleagues at the fire station.
    For Chief Calistro the number one of his team was just one of the elderly firefighters a few years from his retirement.
    Ivano wanted to keep it that way because he had plans to go back to Moniron.

    I envy you for being able to stay short in the things you want to write.

    See you tomorrow around 11:00 am Dutch time. I hope MsLanna/ Etain is awake by then. My German party guests come around 3:00 pm and four of our Dutch neighbours around 5:00 pm. My in-laws even come around 8:00 pm when you are already gone.

    Thank you all and here are the next set of drabbles again dealing with events taking place during the Sonim threat

    6. Healthy
    Ivano Arvedai was a healthy boy in his youth. But falling down after some stunt on the swing and getting a little abrasion had him soon quite unhealthy when the human doctor applied a bacta patch that had him squirming on the table. The doctor sent him home to get some bed-rest. The abrasion developed over night into a big rash and had to be treated for weeks with bandages. And no surprise; Ivano developed an aversion to doctors. He usually could make his visits to a doctor a trying one. For both. Result: Ivano away as soon as possible.

    7. Injured
    Jedi healer Aaqu Maerhin saw immediately that the firefighter giving CPR to the unconscious Jedi padawan was unaware that he was severely injured. He took immediately action and helped the firefighter from the Hutt-sized stretcher where he had been giving his life-saving treatment after the healers busy with the padawan had her stable.
    But being a very stubborn guy Ivano fought against the Jedi helping him. He was sure that a little bit of fresh air, a drink and rest would have him returning to his mates. And he didn’t want to be drafted into the Jedi services at all.

    8. Sick
    A mangled leg and foot gave only a slightly worried feeling for Jedi healer Kaagi Adin.
    But the pieces of metal dug out of those wounds were of more concern. If there were Sonim bacteria on those pieces his patient would become a very sick person.
    The bacteria had wiped out two third of the Sonim colony before Jedi healers could come with an antidote to save the victims.
    And Kaagi discovered the Sonim infection in the thigh wound and was grateful for the invention of the technical department discovering a way to battle that infection locally with metal beads.

    9. Stressed
    Was this the result of stressed behaviour? Or was it just a way to irritate his guests. The legs moving in an irritating rhythm and a hand constantly tapping with the pencil against the desktop was surely something to irritate the assistant of the District fire chief.
    And it had its effects on the assistant when Chief Calistro came with his report. He had to wait endlessly.
    Once inside the office of the district chief Calistro saw the stressed man at work and he was quite annoyed when said chief became very frustrated at the mention of the word Jedi.

    10. Frustrated
    District fire chief Sebeler became very frustrated. The word Jedi had him remembering the first meeting with Jedi. He had been a fire chief at that time. An order of him to his medics to bring an injured Jedi padawan to the nearest hospital had led those medics to disobey the direct order and guide padawan and master to the Jedi healers. Degradation of the medics didn’t work either. A visit from Master Jinn to District fire-chief Eastman had led to promotion of the medics to chiefs of the fire-department housed in the Jeditemple and a severe reprimand for him.

    Yup with healers;) and a stubborn patient. The next set was inspired again by my story and the love couple Obi-Wan and Siri. It's the Valentine week:*

    11. Attraction
    Attraction was for teenager Obi-Wan Kenobi a new sensation when he got to know his fellow padawan Siri Tachi a little bit better during a mission to Kegan. They had started off on rocky terms. Siri still didn’t trust him. He had left the order and had returned to be taken back by his master. On Kegan they had to work together. A friendship was born. During the following years and many missions together with their masters Qui-Gon Jinn and Adi Gallia attraction grew to more than that. But there was the Jedi code and the rule of no attraction.

    12. Love
    Love and attraction leading to marriage was forbidden by the Jedi code. During a mission to save Talesan Fry the padawans Kenobi and Tachi expressed their true feelings for each other. It started with the usual playful bickering and bantering in a cave where they were ordered to hide and continued on a ship. They were facing death in that ship rigged to blow up when it exited hyperspace. They managed to save the ship and their charge Fry and ended the mission successfully. After a discussion with Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Master Yoda they decided to abandon their love.

    13. Commitment
    Their commitment to the Jedi and all that becoming a Jedi knight implied for them led to abandoning their love.
    But a separation where Siri was sent undercover to overthrow Krayn’s slave operations led to a renewal of their love.
    Siri had to cope with the atrocities she had seen during her time with Krayn.
    Obi-Wan had to cope with injuries sustained on Zonoma Sekot and during a visit to the seedy districts of Coruscant in search for his padawan.
    Healers Adin and Maerhin arranged for the two Jedi to be together on Corellia.
    Healing of both was the result.

    14. Marriage.
    Jedi had to leave the order when they were expressing attraction and love leading to marriage. A full commitment to the code was required of each Jedi but.
    There were Corellian Jedi adhering to different rules. They were allowed to marry and have children. They usually kept it a secret when visiting the members of the order.
    Obi-Wan and Siri met during their recuperation on Corella the Corellian Jedi Nejaa Halcyon and his wife Scerra and agreed to keep that knowledge a secret.
    Another Jedi who kept the knowledge of his marriage with Padmé Amidala a secret was Anakin Skywalker.

    15. Anniversary
    For Obi-Wan the return from captivity on Ratatak led to a long healing process with the healers baffled when he didn’t regain the Force. But the Force helped. Pure love without attraction and posssesion between Obi-Wan and Siri was the solution.
    Obi-Wan joined the high council, could keep Siri close to his side – he was still recovering – and was planning a nice anniversary for her.
    It became a most remarkable event. Nephril flowers – meant as gifts for soul mates – were the presents. Stubborn firefighter Ivano Arvedai – a Dunai elder – had recommended them. He had seen the bond of the soul.

    16. Snow
    That stuff was irresistible for Obi-Wan Kenobi when he saw the dark clouds coming towards the Jeditemple after the weather control system had gone whacko after a sabotage. He was planning a birthday surprise, had a potted plant carried inside when he noticed the snow.
    The gift of the potted plant with the blooming Nephril flowers and the breakfast on the sofa was appreciated of course. It led to Siri stuffing him with sweet rolls and fruit. Protesting didn’t help. He pinned down by the healers and Siri because he was still a bit too thin after Jabiim and Ratatak.

    17. Sand
    The stuffing ended with a kiss on that sofa where Siri had helped him to heal from his ordeal.
    Crèche work followed. Initiates were guided by Siri and him to the garden to have some snow fun.
    But he was the first to receive the first snowball – slipped between tunics and obi – from Siri when he started to make his snowball.
    He was glad that the snow was fresh and not mixed with sand and dirt.
    But he felt the snowball slowly gliding down his back and that gave him – after the memories of the morning – a naughty delicious feeling.

    18. Water
    A second snowball followed and marked the first white spot on a brown cloak.
    “Snowball attack,” Siri shouted. “Have them coming. This is your chance to pepper a member of the high council with snowballs. He will be a bit slow and will love it.”
    Obi-Wan was still making his first snowball. He was a bit slow after the breakfast and wanted a large one to retaliate for the snowball that was now slowly making its way downward to his middle. It was turning to water. And noticing that water he slipped in the snow and landed on his posterior.

    19. Heat
    Obi-Wan lost the snowball fight with the initiates but won the second fight that led them again to the garden. A delicious candlelight dinner for two was arranged by the cook Serinka in the shed where the gardener stored his tools. A heating element provided heat and cushions and blankets gave even more comfort.
    Siri entered and saw the smiling eyes, the face again matching the colour of his hair and the slightly open lips and moisture from the snow on that face. Her last snowball had ended up on his forehead and was still dribbling down. Those red lips!

    20. Clouds
    The clouds that had brought the snow fun to the initiates and adult residents of the Jedi temple had disappeared.
    But that was unnoticed by the two Jedi.
    Those inviting red lips.
    Siri had eyes only for the water from the snow gliding down a face. She took one of her long sleeves and wiped that snow away. And she put her hands on his shoulders and kissed him.
    That kiss was followed by sharing the delicious food and an even longer second kiss after cloaks, robes and more were discarded with a ‘they are wet and have to dry’

    Thank you all for the generous comments and here is the next set with a very young and old Kenobi

    @Hazel
    @Jade_eyes
    @Alexis_Wingstar
    @AzureAngel2

    21. Seek
    Seeking things was always encouraged by the crèche master caring for the young initiates. It honed their skills needed when they were fully trained Jedi knights.
    Hiding – for an enemy or friend – was another skill practiced since infancy.
    And a game of hide and seek was loved especially when the master guided the group to one of the gardens. Big trees, gnarled roots of trees, bushes, caves and rockformations and even water provided hiding places. And the initiate chosen to seek could use the Force or other abilities to find friends.
    Obi-Wan Kenobi loved those games of hide and seek.

    22. Sneak
    Obi-Wan, Garen and Reeft soon discovered the crawl ducts giving access to more places for the ‘hide and seek’ game. And those crawl ducts – going to almost every place in the Jeditemple – served another purpose for the initiates.
    It began with a visit for shots to the healers.
    Large plastform syringes – given as presents by a healer to distract the initiate from getting the shots – were a source of fun when filled with water and emptied during a contest with fellow initiates.
    But they broke down.
    Obi-Wan told Garen “I will sneak into healer Adin’s room to get new syringes.”

    23. Steal
    Healer Kaagi Adin had seen it numerous times during his work in the healers’ ward of the Jeditemple. Things disappeared. And mostly they were the things that could be used for pranks. A large batch of large plastform syringes was missing. Did someone steal them?
    Kaagi was sure that Jedi didn’t steal or did they?
    He accessed the cam-log – used by him to evaluate treatments – viewed the whole file and roared with laughter when he saw a ginger haired boy opening the crawl duct grating, sneaking inside the room and climbing atop of his table to get the plastform syringes.

    24. Share
    Kaagi recognised the Kenobi kid immediately and – in for some fun himself – contacted Master Yoda to report the theft of the plastform syringes.
    And he was present in Master Yoda’s apartment when crèche master Rian Solma came with Obi-Wan, Garen and Reeft to visit Master Yoda.

    “Steal some syringes you did initiate Kenobi.”

    “I did but not only for myself. I wanted to share them with Garen and Reeft.”

    “Fun they gave you hmmhh.”

    “Uh yes.”

    “But we didn’t see you.”

    “And we wetted you.”

    “Shared fun this is.” Master Yoda had three plastform syringes emptying on three initiate heads.

    25. Sell
    Holding an old plastform syringe in his hands coloured and weathered by the harsh suns of Tatooine Ben Kenobi had a smile on his face when he remembered the stealing of this particular syringe. He had been seven years old when he told Garen Muln that he would get new ones to share. And he had collected the old syringes in his personal trunk, taken with him when he had to flee the Jeditemple. He had sold the useable syringes when he needed food or other stuff. “Now I have to sell the last syringe. But the memory will remain.”

    Obi-Wan is always nice to write.

    And here again healers
    @Hazel
    @Jade_eyes
    @Alexis_Wingstar
    @AzureAngel2

    26. Serious
    Serious, a Jedi healer was to be the most serious of all Jedi when he was doing what he had to do to help a patient in need. The healer was even more so when he was facing a patient with a serious or even life threatening injury. This description fitted Kaagi Adin – a Dunai elder humanoid born on Moniron and discovered by two Jedi healers visiting his planet – almost perfectly.
    But being under the tutelage from the two who found him – Master Glinis Ra-Ond from Corellia and Aaqu Maerhin from Moniron – he couldn’t be that serious all the time.

    27. Silly
    Silly, that was Kaagi Adin for the moments he had to treat a patient that didn’t want to be treated at all or had to be distracted at all costs.
    Kaagi – a trained surgeon and anesthetist – had various forms of being silly. For children – even Jedi initiates behaved like normal beings when visiting the healers for shots – he had large plastform syringes filled with water to act out a water-fight after the shot was given.
    For patients going for surgery he had his air-show with syringes flying every which way, the mask giving air and telling his patient a story.

    28. Charming
    ‘Tell your patient a charming story. That will do the trick’ was what Kaagi’s master Glinis Ra-Ond had told him when a silly story didn’t work on the human civilian they met during a mission.
    Kaagi had begun with a serious one to persuade the civilian to agree to a difficult procedure. Getting no results he had taken the silly approach and when that didn’t help either he had followed his master’s advice and begun a charming attack.
    The woman was quite flattered by the remarks given on her good and elegant looks and was under before she knew it.

    29. Rude
    Being rude was another way to treat a patient that didn’t want treatment at all.
    Kaagi had to be rude when he had to get Ivano Arvedai – a civilian firefighter who had rescued a Jedi padawan and had brought her to the Jeditemple – under the anesthesia.
    Ivano had tried to get away and had even hit the Jedi-healer.
    Kaagi used the Force to pin his patient down on the stretcher, swab a hand and get the IV-tube in and connected to the line.
    And he felt why Ivano refused treatment. The man didn’t want to be drafted into the order.

    30. Funny
    Kaagi would tell his patient – a Dunai elder and a strong Force sensitive like all of his species – that there was no reason to worry. For that and more he wanted to keep him in the healers’ ward after the surgery to treat a fractured foot and lacerated thigh.
    He began to ready Ivano for admittance to the IC-ward when Alco Bel Kais – the leading surgeon – came with objections.
    But when Alco told that he had to report this admittance to Vokara Che – the chief healer – Kaagi knew that Alco was just being funny as shown by the mischievous smile.
