I really like his developement in recent years. i mean, I know many readers thought Civil War was a major derailment, if not directly anti-heroic and even pure character assassination (I would argue that he was always a bit of a **** and if anything Civil War was correcting the mischaracterization from the 90s, but I think the same about Professor X and I realize it's not a popular opinion), but it's been worth it:

All of Jonathan Hickman's excellent Fantastic Four/FF run has depended on his choices during Civil War and his efforts to "fix everything". We got to know him better than ever and he not only got redemption for his terrible mistakes, but also became a richer character as a result.

Now when we see him return to exploring Kirby-esque worlds we are aware of his flaws and his failings, and that gives the stories a gravitas and a sense of danger they didn't have before.

I suspect the character meant in the other thread was not Stretch Armstrong, but DC's Plastic Man. Created in the 1940's, thus considerably older than the FF's Reed "Mr Fantastic" Richards.

I haven't read a comic in 2 years and new that. You people are pathetic.

I had a stretch monster when I was a kid. It was the pink octopus shown here.

I don't know about that but yes if you ever put your action figures in the bottom center position from that screenshot.

I had this but not Armstrong. I used the Stretch Monster for show and tell in the 1st grade. Due to disuse it eventually became unflexable, actually got a hole in it and leaked a bit and wound up a stiff corpse.

What were the tiny little rubber figurines, all in a generic and ugly pink, that came out in the 80s called?

I was always surprised they didn't try to bring over Kinnikuman to help push those toys. It didn't even have the Voltron or Robotech problem of not actually having enough episodes.

They brought over a new series about the son. It was amusing. I still have a ziplock bag filled with over a hundred MUSCLE. Perhaps I will finally sell them.

Indeed. Plus the video game was probably the best wrestling game I've played.
