i would also ask the same question about darkseid and marvel's version of him (thanos). i mean, if we're bringing back so many heavy-hitters; let's take off the kid gloves.

The thing is, while I don't mind allowing some of these guys in, I do want to be aware of team killers. It's a problem when only four teams can get a Thanos and then there's a significant drop in power. I guess it comes down to whether or not you think we've got enough people that can beat Thanos and Darkseid and Strange etc. to justify putting them in. I don't care about the ceiling of power, I care about the distribution of power, and while I'm not going to babysit people's picks, I do want to make sure everyone is getting the same general value for their positions; round 2 should not be very far removed from round 1, etc.

 

I actually already found and asked Grimby about that one. Waiting on a response, but it's before the cut-off date, so I'm sure it won't be a problem.

 

Just make sure to add enough to go around. How many teams are there going to be?

Some of the most powerful people on the level of the above mentioned would include Spawn, Spectre and The Sentry. Onslaught and Despero are really tough. Ronan the Accuser isn't on the list unless I just missed him.

What if we put all these people that are borderline "team killers" on a list and say that each team can only have one from that grouping?

So far you would have Hope Summers, Darkseid, Thanos, Spawn, Spetre, The Sentry, Onslaught, Despero, Ronan the Accuser, Dr. Strange & Dr. Fate. It probably wouldn't be that hard to find a few more to give everyone some good options out of that list.

I actually liked the user if a"power list". I looked what it added to strategy ... You could wait for a "lesser big gun" and get a top normal pick, knowing you weren't forever punting on that level of power.

 

There are just a couple of problems I have with it, and those are 1) I don't want to hold people's hand during drafting, I just want to be sure there's not an imbalance which would make it totally unfair to the bottom of the first round(assuming drafting is done properly), 2) that list would be very short right now, and if you wait you're pretty much forced to take someone you may not want to, and 3) where do we put the cut-off?

If we want to do a PL again, I'm here to give the people what they want, but I think it presents problems of its own.

In that case just throw them all on one list and let it go, you won't hear me complain if I make bad picks and get beat. Please put Ronan on there though, I like that dude and he is bad ass. Also, maybe you could add Gamora and team her up with Pip the Troll.

Okay, here's what I'm going to do. For those that want a PL list(or those characters which would necessitate the need for a PL), I want a list of names of no less than 12--preferably 16-20--people that deserve to be on that list. The list will be one pick per team. If we can't get that together, then I don't see how we can justify putting in people who, as far as I can see, can't be reasonably stopped.

 

As you know, I'm all for leaving them out. Are we going to work more on team picks?

 

The more I consider it the more I think that a "powerlist" isn't really needed. People will make bad picks no matter what you do, that is their choice to do and nobody's fault but their own.

The characters most likely able to be considered "team killers" would be Thanos, Darksied, Onslaught, Dr. Strange, Dr. Fate, Amazo, Despero, Spawn, Superboy Prime, The Sentry.

From my perspective however, once you remove those you have a whole new set of team killers to deal with. X-Man, Quasar, Cyborg Superman, Ultron, Black Bolt, Firestorm, etc.

Then after you remove them you have another group that will be far above the next level. It seems to go on and, every layer you remove will be followed by another layer that will suddenly be considered "team killers"

I am open to what ever is decided by those who know more than I do.

No he's on one of the team lists which got cut off in the post. As soon as I get that post restored we're ready to move forward(there are way too many names on them to be able to start them from scratch.
