Very cool! Any idea how durable the material is and it's ability to hold paint?

Along time ago this is what Kyle did to make his armor. He used a normal plastic trash can and it looked fine. He painted it with spray paint and it lasted until he got rid of it. I am sure the thicker the plastic the more durable it is.

in the forum it does say it is pretty durable and can be finely sanded to smooth it out for a more metallic surface. painting it shold be just fine.

Well, should we go in on this and have a cutting and sanding party? :)

This was my plan, just need to finish the Guard helmet then actually get off my procrastinating butt and start working on it.

I agree with Bill. If we can wait for warmer weather. Get a plan together. tribe name, base design that we could add our own flair to ( Snow Mandos} get a list of people who want to do this.Form a commitee ( I vote for Dan , Dave, Bill , Anna, and AJ) When the warmer weather hits, we can use my 2 and half car garage. I have a 220 line in the garage if we need it and I will suppy the beer and pizza.

Sounds great!!!! THe snow Mando's are an awesome idea!
I found Gesso at MICHAEL's, it is a finishing product some COSPLAYers use for WORBLA. I can try it on one of our Sterlite cans and see how it works for priming/prep.

The one thing I like about this idea is if we can get a good plan on this, it would be a great intro for new members on building a costume for the NR to use at their first events.

Indeed! Can we schedule a Saturday or Sunday perhaps before we enter the madness of the Bison rehearsal schedule?

I've been waiting to do the snow mando for a while. No backpack or missile requirements. No gauntlets either. Only requirements that they seem to be sticklers on is the mando diamond in the center of the chest.

Snow mandos have to be based entirely on their environment. So the combination of snow trooper and mando would make sense. The diamond placement is the tricky part......

I wonder if styrofoam can be reinforced? Could carve gauntlets much easier than building
