Got the decision in the mail yesterday... the judge ruled that I will continue to receive unemployment benefits.

 

YAY!! Now you can afford to continue to look for work!

Tunick, thanks for getting canned and posting about it. If not for you I never would have realized that my email address might be holding me back job wise. I've been using my jedidajuan@gmail.com account for everything. Oops. Now I have a generic email address with my name. <3 Seriously though, thanks to people who posted about that in this thread. Hopefully that will make a difference in the near future.

Numerous applications sent, phone calls made, and yet not a single interview over the past 5+ months... not one! I did get an e-mail from NBC Universal that they were looking over my application (for an inventory job there), but I ain't holding my breath.

 

Did you reply with a thank you and then follow up a week later? You gotta do that.

I've finished my last bit of physical therapy (abdomen and back), and am finally cleared to return to work... so yeah, I'm hunting now, as well. Hang in there. You'll find something.

 

Yes & no... I'll call them in a couple of days (since I got that e-mail last Thursday). Glad to see your physically doing better/got that clearance... much luck on your search as well.

 

Now that it's September, the frustration & annoyance level of not even getting a single interview yet is getting higher & higher. Of course, that hasn't affected in how many applications I've been sending out, and some companies are nice enough to send me a rejection e-mail/voicemail. Lately I've been thinking about over the years I had at Walmart (since 8 years is a rather sizable chunk of time), and I often find myself missing some interactions I had with certain co-workers... how sad is that?



Also, got a notice from the EDD today stating I missed an interview I was supposed to attend last week, despite never getting a single notice about said interview. Hopefully it's not to messy of a situation to deal with, because my next payment is on hold until that gets taken care of.

Did you schedule another one?

 

I will be calling the EDD tomorrow to sort this out, and I do imagine that scheduling this interview will be a part of the conversation, depending on how they take the news that I never received a notification from them. I of course will be cordial about it.
