I prefer to think of Castro as the Road Runner to the CIA's Coyote.

Yeah, I thought the exact same thing.

Hmm...South Korea, Spain, South Vietnam, Argentina...and wild guess, Thailand? Now let's click and see how many I got right!

    Edit: Damn.

Batista is pre-Castro Cuba, Pinochet is 1970s Chile and the last one is Zaire.

You should have mentioned Greece, Darth Guy. That one's rich. The infamous Johnson quote "**** your parliament and your constitution!" makes it the most colorful affair of the bunch.

You're doing it wrong; you need to go on wiki and instantly form opinions on everything under the 'criticisms' heading.

Yeah, because the pro-Chavez posters have supplied such profound in-depth analysis of how he's made life so much better for his Venezuelans, rather than just posting a series of trite "stick it to imperialist yankees" cliches.

You forgot the ones they own in the middle of the Caribbean, namely Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. And "territory" is just an euphemism for "colony".

There's no onus on anyone to defend Chavez from Fox News viewers.

I used the ones in the Pacific to illustrate the point that even if an island is far, far away from the national borders of a country, that country can still claim them. The list was not meant to be complete or all-inclusive.

Can't comment on your assertion that 'territory' means 'colony.'

To clarify, I am not pro-Chavez myself. Suppression of press, speech against his regime, and labor don't swell my heart with pride. It's just that he's pretty benign in comparison to a whole lot of other leaders that Americans and the U.S. government don't have as much of a problem with.

I don't know anything about Hugo Chavez, but the announcement of his death by his vice-president made me tear up.

He was so dramatic. You'd never see an announcement like that in the US.
