I'm wondering as Qui-Gon discovered the secret of immortality before Yoda?

If the question is in regards to the Force as a whole, then I would say Yoda.

If it's in regards to knowledge of the Living Force, then I would say Qui-Gon.

I would say Qui-Gon, going by the prequels.

Yoda was trapped in the old rigid thinking, it took Qui-Gon's lessons for him to be more like the wise old Yoda we see in Empire. The Yoda we see in the PT isn't nearly as wise.

Personally, I think the PT botched it.

Yoda. Although I think Qui-Gon was the wiser of the two and the wisest Jedi of them all.

Qui-Gon is more devoted to the Living Force, but Yoda, with his experience, is far more knowledgeable about the Force as a whole.

    - Judge me by my size, do you?
    - Well, if it works...

Yoda by far. He's older by many centuries, but is too set in his ways for his knowledge to make a difference when he needed it the most.

Without Qui Gon, there is no ghost-party on Endor...

It can be argued that Yoda's knowledge led to ruin, while Qui Gon's led to eternal life.

Who knows though, had Yoda died before Qui-Gon, Yoda could have learned about the living force as well.

Then why didn't all the other dead Jedi learn the ability? It is implied that Qui-Gon's attainment of ghost status may relate to knowledge discovered during his lifetime.

    Knowledge + Wisdom: Qui-Gon
    Power: Yoda

Yoda appears confused throughout the entire PT. Only in TPM does he appear to be like the ESB Yoda, and actually wise and knowledgeable. In the other two he seems quite clueless. What exactly was the point of going to Kashyyk? How did he ontribute in that battle? Did he even? Wouldn't it have been better if he had stayed, so Yoda could have been part of the posse that attacked Palps?

Also Yoda didn't seem a whole lot stronger than Qui Gon in the Force at all.

I don't think so. After all, all of Yoda's teachings to Luke reflected Qui-Gon's teachings in TPM.

Yoda has more knowledge. Qui-Gon discovered a new application of the Force. It is like science. If a new scientist develops a new line of thinking, it does not automatically make that person the most knowledgeable scientist in that field. Sure, they should be commended for their efforts, but the discovery does not always catapult them to the top.

Qui-Gon he has more wisdom and knowledge , way more centered then the other jedi. And because he was the first it seems like to be able to become one with the force.

And im gonna throw this what if question out there. What would have happened had Qui-Gon survived TPM? LOL

The scientist who develops a method to eradicate cancer should simply be commended? They wouldn't automatically be called the best in the business? Not buying that. Qui Gon Jinn never gets the credit that he is due. The dude beat death, he found the cure to the cancer of life in the gffa. Baddest scientist Maverick to ever hold a green glow stick.

Surely Yoda. He was always meant to be the sharpest Jedi in the box. In fact I think it's one of the failings of the PT that Yoda is brought down to the level of all the other Jedi. I'm sure I've talked about this in another thread as well.
