Methinks that woman is arguing from the wrong side. Trying to justify the fight to keep slavery and to use it as a tactic to fight gay marriage is just plain wrong.

There is something to the idea that people used to treat their body as a temple and now they treat it as an amusement park.

Of course, I don't really know how people lived their lives in past. I don't really know how people live their lives today. I suppose their behaviors would cover a broad spectrum...

Anyway, I do think that the EVIL MEDIA puts forward the idea that "sex is the most important thing in life" and that the EVIL PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM puts forward the idea that "sex is for fun and without consequences if you use a condom." I think both of those ideas are wrong.

As someone who was once married to a homely person with whom really really bad sex happened....I can confirm that envy of others' happy relationships can make you bitter.

Societies have actually punished people for having sex. They still do.

Not all prohibitive measures are undertaken because of envy... While that is a convenient way to explain anything ("she's just jealous of me"), it's rarely accurate.

 

That doesn't make it right...or effective. I still think you need to get laid.
