why was he wanting to stick it to the pats exactly? but i have to say, i don't mind them losing him as a weapon. that's for damn sure. that'll change their offense a pretty fair amount.

I'm not sure of the full reason, but I think part of it is because Brady was throwing guys like Gronk and Hernandez more passes than to Welker.

All true. But he is going to be catching balls for the Patriots' former #1 most hated enemy in Peyton Manning. I could easily see Pats fans seeing the Manning part as some kind of betrayal.
