2013 Denver St. Patrick's Day Parade

This weekend is last weekend before the parade are we going to do touch ups on the float?

 

Jeff and I looked at it on Sunday. It is in good shape. The tarp held up well. He is going to uncover it after the (theoretically) last snow/rain storm before the parade, just to make sure.

 

The museum is trying to get a banner for May the Fourth for us to put on the truck. And it will be a more "generic" banner for us to use multiple times/years.

 

If we're promoting us without promoting another commercial entity, we're fine. The problem with the Pinewood Derby is that it's not actually an established event yet.

(Sorry, I just saw this one, or I would have responded sooner.

 

So with me being new and everything, is there anything I can do aside from going down there and supporting you all? Am I able to walk with the parade? If not, where can I find you guys before/during the parade to meet everyone? And if so, what is the information/clothing etiquette, etc?

 

We always need members of the t-shirted support crew! Grab your favorite Star Wars t-shirt and follow the instructions found in the FB event for up to the minute info.

 

It's looking less and less likely that I wil be physically able to participate in the parade.

Tomorrow! Hope to see everybody out there who can make it. The parade is always such a good time and the happy looks on the kids and drunk people's faces totally makes it worth it.

 

Official Parade Info

 

The parade went great! We had quite a few participants from the RMFF, RL, 501st and the Sith folks. We were right near the front so we started walking at about 10:15 and finished by about 11:45. The weather was cool, but not unbearable. The crowds were loud and appreciative. No drunks and no throwing of candy...all was a tremendous success and we were one of the best floats/entries, I'm sure!

Thanks to all who came out and to Obey Wann and PtrsonsZOO for organizing and making out entry happen. Thanks to darth_hair and SITH__CHICK for housing and taking care of the float.

Let's be crazy and do a new float for next year, yes? Endor Village would be very cool, but you know what would be even better? Life size Death Star...nuff said.
