PT Lets hope Disney reboots the Prequels after they are done with the ST.

Disney has both the resources and the creative talent to do this, in fact they could even do it in short order and have many options to carry it out....

Option 1.........Totally do away with anything prequel related, this process has already started with the cancellation of the clone wars cartoon series (Which btw would have been much more useful between AOTC, and ROTS.) Allow Canon to revert back to the Beginning of a A New Hope and wipe away all the pain and frustation of the failed Prequel trilogy forever.

Option 2.........Invest in and totally reboot the Prequel trilogy by condensing it into 3 new movies, and focusing on a slightly older Anakin in the 1st film, about 14. Make him a teen full of Anger and Pain, imprisoned on Tatooine to the Hutts and forced to build and race pods, Make Obi-Wan the main Jedi, Reduce Q-Gon's role to that of a Jedi Master at the temple or away form the main Obi-Wan, Anakin Dynamic. have Obi-Wan liberate Anakin thus establishing their Friendship, have Anakin begin by being totally loyal and respectful to Obi-Wan. Anakin does not meet Padme until he reaches the point of Jedi Training. She becomes his main temptation as she does not understand the Jedi way, and thus does not care about their rigid and senseless system as it seems to her and pulls Anakin into the things normal Jedi would not do, thus the more he falls for Padmes suduction, the more he falls away form the Jedi (mirroring Eve's temptation of Adam in the Garden.) Bring in the Sith but do not show Sidious at all in the first film, only Darth Maul. Do not give away the twist of the Emperor so soon. Make a Tandam of Obi-Wan and Anakin saving the day at the end.............but allow Darth Mauls escape mirroring Vaders escape form the Death Star in a New Hope. This film should have a lighter tone, but no Gungans, NO Droids except R2 and c3p0 who would be in service to Padme at this time, and no lame politics save, (Maul talking to Sidious via hologram but never seeing his face, and hearing a line or two about taking over the senate.)

Film 2 should start with a major victory and the destruction of many Jedi who think they tracked Maul only to find they were tricked and walked into a trap, it should be the moment that Maul strikes down Q-Gon. It could be on Kamino and the Clone Army could be looped into it but it should be the first 20 minutes of the film setting a very dark tone. The Senate upon learning of the Clone Armies being raised by the renegade Count Dooku should then vote to raise a Army to defend the republic. In essence the Clones should be working for the CIS, not the Republic. and we could be spared the senseless battle droids who nobody gives a damn about when they get wiped out, giving some real feeling to the Clone Wars. The Jedi should rush into the Action to stop the Clones who Dooku turns loose on the Republic, and many fall in Action as Palpatine watches form afar. Finally Anakin and Obi-wan and a group of Jedi track down Dooku and General Grevious whose role is basically Dookus sidekick, While Yoda, Mace Windu, and the Council figure out who is causing the trouble and confront Sidious with Darth Maul at his side. Sidious and Maul lay waste to The Jedi Council but the fight is believable and shocking, Mace Windu kills Darth Maul before Sidious frys him, Yoda (Not using any lightsaber barely escapes but Sidious believes him dead because he falls and uses the force to hide his presence. Meanwhile Anakin Strikes Down Dooku in front of Obi-Wan and falls to the Darkside, Obi-Wan cuts Grevious into Spare Parts in a rush to get to Anakin, but the act of murder has pushed him over the edge, Obi-Wan pleads with him but to no avail, they clash and Anaking tells Obi-Wan that Palpatine has been giving him training and he is more powerful than Obi-Wan could ever realize. We all know the end with Obi-Wan cutting off Anakins legs and one arm, proving the light side is indeed stronger, Sidious arrives and drags Anakins burned body away. Both Obi-Wan and Padme survive with the twins being born before the credits roll, Yoda goes into hiding as a end credit part. (This Film should be action packed, no long drawn out love story, Anakin and Padme fall for each other because see suduces him not knowing where it will lead, but he craves power and thinks that loving a senator will have its benefits.)

The 3rd Film would be completely devoted to Darth Vaders rise as head of the new Empires military lord and the Jedi Purge as Vader tracks down the remaining Jedi inculding Obi-Wan, and they fight again this time Obi-Wan barely escapeing with his life to go into hiding at the one place Vader would never return too, After the confrontation with Obi-Wan, Anakin goes to the Temple staging the assault we see in ROTS in full Black Darth Vader Armor, taking out all the Jedi there and wiping out one of the last threats to him. Padme traveling to Tatooine and finds Obi-Wan, giving him Luke, and travels to Alderran with Leia to live with Bail Organa revealing that she is sick and their is no cure to her illness. Darth Vader and the Emperor take over the republic, wipe out the last of the Jedi, and the Rebel Allinance is born ............................we see thousands of star destoryers take off with milllions of stormtroopers bound for systems thoughout the galaxy as the credits roll. the end credit is footage of rag-tag rebels fighting on distant worlds against better equipped and more numberous imperial forces.

this Thread is just my attempt at rebooting the horrible Prequels, it can be done now that Lucasfilm is in the hands of more creative talent but they may choose to focus sqaurely on the years after ROTJ which I will not complain about. I actually typed a rough story out in less than 10 minutes covering three films ............most impressive indeed.

I don't think Disney will slap Lucas in the face like that, in fact it was probably in the contract to not redo the prequels. I'd watch any remake because I'm not necessarily thrilled with the overall prequel experience as they are but I don't see it happening. At most, perhaps in ten years or so, they'd retell the Vader story in one film - after some times passes. I've said in the past Disney should redo the prequels but it's just way too early and after thinking about it, as I said, that would be beyond disrespectful to Lucas. I'd almost feel sorry for the guy at that point.

 

It will not be about feeling sorry for Lucas, its will be about feeling right for the millions of fans who love his creation and made him rich beyond words loving it, it is about doing what is right for STAR WARS!!!!!!

 

It's about doin what's right for Johnny.

 

I wouldn't waste a penny on any reboot of the PT. Screw that!

StarWars2015: Although I'm wary of threads such as this, I'll offer you advice.

If you went to the trouble of writing an outline, go one step further: write a screenplay or novel. The experience may prove cathartic. (And don't hew so closely to Lucas's narrative. Be creative.)

A few minor changes could of made the movies a lot better

 

Some of the best movies ever made could be better with a few minor changes. And just because they're some of the best movies ever made does not mean they were perfect. I don't see anyone taking the trouble to make them.. And I don't see why they should.

 

I wouldn't even bother going to a 'reboot' of the PT....they're there and in all honestly not even that bad, gees did I just say that hahaha
