Rio not available for England is hardly a huge loss, yes he's still good but this is a good opportunity to try other players. If things aren't going well use Cahill and Lescott, they have experience and play in top teams.

 

Rio's still good, but we have sufficiently decent centre-backs to see us through to World Cup qualification without him and he's never gonna be up to playing in the tournament itself. So... he's no loss.

 

With everybody fit, England certainly don't need him.

He did, but my point is several people here said that Terry should not play for England. Too old, past it etc. So those people should also agree that Rio shouldn't either

Rio has been great this season, much improved on the last couple of years when he looked old and past it.
I wouldn't say the same for Terry, he hasn't looked really good for some time (then again, in a defense as shambolic as Chelsea's has often been I guess everyone looks terrible).

But it happens to everyone, Cole was once called the Best Left-Back in the World but these days he certainly isn't.

 

You said he was too old, past it, and should give way to the new generation of players.

 

I just want John Terry to retire so that whenever anyone criticizes something that "Terry" has done I don't end up thinking they're on about me.

Especially if I only caught part of the conversation.


I do agree that I'm old and past it though.

 

I laugh at Terry being a cry baby. I refuse to say which Terry I'm speaking of, and it may be both.
