Discussion Luke's Jedi Academy

So, assuming we are correct and the ST is set 30-40 years after the OT. And assuming we are correct that Luke will open a Jedi Academy on Yavin IV - this offers up many of questions.

How will Luke come to get Jedi's? This is the main question - especially since its an "ancient religion" Is he going planet to planet knocking on doors? Does he take a flier out in all the local papers? Does he have open auditions - like American Idol? Who is on the panel with him? Paula Abdul?

Hopefully he didnt find out how to count midi-chlorians.

Then, how does he train said Jedi? Did OBI-Wan leave him some documents? Does he just have them do back flips, mentally pick up Artoo and some rocks and thats it? BAM! Yer a Jedi - here is your robe and a lightsaber.

And mostly - THEN WHAT? What do his new Jedi do? Are they enlisted to the NEW REPUBLIC as keepers of peace?

I don't want a jedi academy. In my vision, Luke has been busy travelling the galaxy in search for ...something ... And I would not mind if that something turn out to be dark.

 

Probably should take this to the EU thread - it could use some non confrontational speculation...
