No, not about adopting a gay.

But rather, should gay couples have the same rights as heterosexual couples when it comes to adoption?

 

I don't see how gays can ruin a child anymore than straight couples can.

I must say I don't understand why this spirals off into a half dozen mini-debates. Homosexuality should be at its core either acceptable or unacceptable, and every variant of "activity X performed by homosexuals" should have an answer that is a direct corollary of that initial judgment. I don't understand the construct by which gay marriage would be acceptable, but gay artificlal insemination would not, thus necessitating these granular discussions.

 

Injecting a gay man for insemination might lead to stem cells...

Being completely serious, people at CPAC did call Chief Justice John Roberts and his wife second-rate parents for choosing to adopt kids.

He is contributing to the conversation by not directly addressing the actual question raised. In doing so, I am pretty sure he is avoiding admitting that he views homosexuality as a sin.

But, to respond to J-W's non-response, this could conceivably go beyond a moral issue, if, in theory, there was a legitimate issue with gay parents not being as able as a heterosexual couple. Besides all that, it is a practical policy consideration, because without explicit affirmation of homosexual rights by law in each specific instance, social conservatives will use every hurdle they can possibly find to hold back "the gay agenda".

I have several gay friends who have successfully adopted and have wonderful well adjusted children. So **** you and drop dead to anyone who says otherwise.
