I'm not sure what I'm supposed to get from those statistics.

Is it that gay people are less likely to abuse their children? I wouldn't think so.

I know we've moved on from thinking they're all degenerate perverts, but I don't think we should go to the opposite extreme and assume that they are all paramounts of virtue.

    They're just people...

No, not at all... I'm just saying that a home with a mother and a father isn't necessarily always what's best. Genitals do not make good parents. There is a whole lot more that goes into being a good parent than gender.

I never said they were paramounts of virtue... and I agree 100% that they're just people... people who should have the same opportunities as other people.

With so many children in need of loving homes in this world, I don't get why you would discriminate against any person or couple willing to give a child one, just because they happen to love somebody of the same gender.

Straight people have always done such a wonderful job of raising children, of course there's no need to allow homosexual couple to adopt.

What makes a "mother" and a "father" exactly? Beyond the different genitalia, how are the two roles different? What does a mother do that a father can't and vice versa?

I'm guessing there are some sexist stereotypes in the implication that two fathers or two mothers aren't as good as a mother and a father, but I'll wait and see.

I had a terrible time trying to breast feed my kids. Honestly, it's the only thing my ex-wife was good for.

There are no illegitimate children, but there are illegitimate parents.

What sort of a right is that? Having a right to one's biological parents is worthless if those parents are dead or demented, or if they gave you up/disowned you, or if they wish you harm.

One might just as easily say 'the rights of children trump the rights of heterosexuals to have children', or 'the rights of children trump the rights of PARENTS to have children.' It's just fatuous.

    A biological fact?
Kind of sexist, I think. Okay, all children may benefit from getting breast milk. You need a female for that. However, women can play catch with their kids and men can help their kids pick out outfits and do hair, makeup, etc. I don't think it's a biological need. Most kids in modern countries aren't even breastfed anymore.

ALL OF IT! It's actually NOT a hard biological fact. I think there are some bird species or whatever that have two fathers raise the birds, or whatever.
Yeah, I checked. Some birds actually raise young with two birds of the same gender as parents.
It's like saying homosexuality isn't natural, when there is actually quite a lot of homosexuality in nature. Bonobos, for example.

If having a mother and a father isn't even needed in base, dangerous nature, humans with all our advantages + advancements + comforts should be okay.

Having both a mother and a father isn't equivalent to having good parents or a good childhood.
