Parable of the Good Samaritan much? No? More like the exact opposite? Yeah.

    Gotta love those Christian values.

According to the link, she's apparently from Colombia, not Washington, D.C.

I think that's what VadersLaMent was getting at. That derp can be found worldwide, not just in Washington.

I have made mistakes as to the reality of a given item. I do hope when I post this stuff that I got it wrong and it was a hoax or an Onion item or something I just didn't check correctly and I got it wrong. I don't want those in charge to be like this and I am not broken up if I make a mistake. I do wish this was a false story.

The thing is that as posted earlier there are people who seem to think slaves were treated to meals and had shelter so what do they and their descendents have to complain about?

And he belongs to the political party that believes the liberals/Democrats/socialists "hate freedom."

Nothing says "I hate freedom" more than a belief that slavery is a good thing.

    This quote seems painfully apropos:

"Freedom in capitalist society always remains about the same as it was in ancient Greek republics: Freedom for slave owners." - Lenin

I have to say I am not anti-capitalism. Nor am I anti-government. I am not anti-socialist, anti- democracy, anti-communism, anti-republic, anti-dictator, etc etc. Ther eis literall yno such this as a bad form of government or economic structure. The problem is those put in place as the heads of such structure. Money is not evil, it's just money. It's what the people in charge of playing with it most, that is the problem.

Just to clarify, Jindal believes that schools should have the right to choose which text-books they use.

Nowhere does the article report him saying "slavery is a choice." Even the one cherry-picked sentence out of the entire text-book doesn't say "slavery is a choice."

So I don't see I don't see how this is his derp. It seems more like the author's derp.

And you are what folks like Jindal just love. Schools do not and should not get to choose their text based on what they wish reality to be. When a politician uses the phrase "Local schools should have a choice" they are telling creationists that they approve of getting science out of schools. There is a reason they want to remove the Dept Of Education from schools. A bad one. And as I posted before the nonsense surrounding the acceptence of slavery as "not so bad" is rampant among the racist, and folks like Jindal will cater to it. You cannot call cherry picking after what happened at CPAC.

It is obvious why it is a derp. The authors of the Christian textbook are defending slavery on the sly as a means of rehabilitating the Southern (i.e. Conservative) image.

He might have a sinister agenda, but that isn't what the article is about.

"Bobby Jindal believes slavery was just a choice" is just a lie. It's yellow journalism.

The writer of the article should be ashamed...

If he didn't believe that personally, why the hell would he want it taught in schools?

That reminds me of this joke:

What did the creationist say when he saw a archeopteryx?

    AAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!

When your source is a blogger called "Crazy Crawfish"....yeah, at best it's misinformation, at worst, it's a hoax.

Especially that our friend "Crazy Crawfish" also claims that the sinkhole in Bayou Corne is "radioactive". (it's not...the reason the residents living near B.C. were evacuated was because of the huge volume of natural gas gushing out of the sinkhole and into the community, and the fact that the sinkhole keeps growing and growing)

There's a reason blog posts aren't considered a valid primary source...."Crazy Crawfish" needs to put an extra layer of tinfoil on his cap.

The creationists should just stick to the tried and true method of denying facts/fossils/etc. : "God put those there to test your faith" or (my personal favorite) "The Devil put them there to confuse you."
