So are there any ideas where YDR should go in the TCW timeline since the Dreadnaughts of Rendili and Obsession arc ended up being ruined? Also I'm not sure but I think you might have missed "The Gauntlet of Death" from Free Comic Book Day 2009 and "Appetite for Adventure" from CWA Vol. 9.

So, Tholme spent not 5 months but 2.5 YEARS in those caverns? I came across that same problem when doing what you did, and decided that Republic #72 and #73 should stay where they are. This of course resulted in Tholme and Vos delaying the Anzat mission for 2 years. But I thought it unavoidable. Republic #73 ends with the beginning of the Siege of Saleucami, and with Palpatine saying that the war is about to end with everything set for the attack on Coruscant. It has to stay where it is.

I'm sure it's been mentioned and this is probably a pointless post, but we all know there is never going to be a continuity error-free resolution :(

There are just too many irreconcilable differences but respect for trying to make it work

Indeed, it is a matter of damage control at this point. So, did A.) Tholme spend 2 years in a Separatist cave without getting caught and the Siege of Saleucami lasted 2 years and Sidious for some reason talked with Dooku about the Outer Rim Sieges as if they started a few months into the war instead of 30 months into it, or did B.) Tholme simply waited 2 years to act on a tip? I say B. Damage control. The end of the war is the only place those two issues can make any sort of sense.

I completely forgot about YDR and Anakin's Knighting (and the Mission to Vjun) playing a role in it. Given that, it's pretty simple. I just have to move it forward to approximately the same time as micro series ep 21. Not ideal, but simple enough. I'll add in Gauntlet of Death to somewhere in the season 1-2 time period. I'll also add Appetite for Adventure as well, as it looks like that and "Salvaged" just need to be added with the rest of volume 9.

Also, I do see your point on Trackdown. I had forgotten just how explicit the references were to the war's end (which is going to inevitably happen in some material I'm afraid. It's more or less unavoidable.) I originally wanted to take advantage of the fairly large gap in time the story provided between arcs, but really, there is little other reason it can't be late in the war again. I will move it back to post obsession accordingly.

And no, an error free continuity is more or less impossible at this point, but I do think this is the right track to something that generally flows decently. It's either this, or we start tossing out stories, and I see no reason to do that yet (hence why I'm attempting this).

I'll make these switches in the next revision. Should be pretty simple.

The Mission to Vjun plays a role in Anakin's knighting? Can you please explain? I thought that, depending on when the Nightsisters arc takes place, Dark Rendezvous can still be later, where the Reader's Companion put it.

I believe the New Essential Chronology stated that Vjun's events are what led to Obiwan's promotion to a council member, which in turn led to Anakin's Knighting not long afterwords, however that seems to contradict most timeline placements I've seen, and I don't recall the book being that explicit about the event at all. Plus the Essential Reader's Guide lists it as later, so I always assumed based on the text that it was a 'post knighting' story.

The wook reads as if Vjun predates the Knighting as well.

    http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Mission_to_Vjun#cite_note-raf-4

This is tricky. I would rather put it somewhere around Season 3's time period and just assume it to be a post knighting, but pre-Nightsisters story.

Oh my, looking back at that old thread, I had forgotten all about that. It feels like so long ago since we worked on that...

Well, the Reader's Companion placed it at c. 19 BBY with the TCW movie and related material coming before. The novel itself includes several instances of Anakin and Obi-Wan calling each other "Master" and "Padawan" but other than that is not explicit as to their actual relationship. I know it would make sense because of that to place it before the Knighting, but then why did the Reader's Companion not move it when all other Clone Wars novels with Padawan Anakin were pushed back?

So I agree that it would have to be pre-Nightsisters. Which would mean that everything from the middle of Season 3 onwards is in the war's last year. Didn't the new character models debut in Heroes on Both Sides? Since Senate Murders has to fit in there, the character models are a mistake either in Heroes on Both Sides and Pursuit of Peace, or in Senate Murders. In any case, there is a gap there and Nightsisters follows, so it fits with Nightsisters being 19 BBY.

The Reader's Companion also states that all the other novels fit in the first 7 weeks, which is frankly impossible, and contradicts Chee's statements of at least "months" as I said in the thread's first post... though I am generally okay with the order of the stories presented in the book. I would, however, say that season 3's second half could cover the last half of the war. Very late 21BBY/very early 20BBY. Setting it between 24 and 36 AGB is too late, IMHO. Season 5 material (and likely the latter half of season 4) is however confirmed by dark horse dating to be in the war's final year.

I think I'll just label it as Pre-Nightsisters and leave it as is for now. It seems the placement was an issue even 'before' TCW was created, so some ambiguity on this novel isn't that big a deal. Personally, I like having at least a few stories later in the war more than forcing 'every' novel to be pre-TCW, even if we can't keep their exact month placement.

Strangely, his entry says so, and I always assumed this to be the case (based on what shatterpoint said), so I'm going to take the wook's entry on his promotion afer Vjun to just be in error here. YDR should logically occur after Anakin's Knighting, but before Nightsisters. Problem solved.

I'll tweak the timeline again tomorrow. I think we're getting close to something pretty solid here. After 5 long and confusing years.

This is the quote in question from the Wook's battle of Vjun entry, and it's sourced to "The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader", but the only mention of Vjun I can find in the book is after his transformation to Vader, so I'm assuming this to be in error, or old speculation.

"Upon his return to Coruscant, Obi-Wan Kenobi was made a member of the Jedi Council for his heroism in the war to date. The seats of the Council, according to tradition, were reserved for Jedi Masters, so Kenobi was also promoted to that position. He used the opportunity to construct a new lightsaber.[2] Shortly after the Vjun conflict, a Council meeting was arranged regarding the dwindling amount of Jedi Knights and the increasing demand for Generals on battlefronts.[5]"

I think that was the official fix for why Ziro is free in the game, but was shown on Clone Wars to have been imprisoned immediately after the film and escaping only to be killed later.

*Obsession is perhaps the single toughest issue to tackle in the entire new timeline, due to it being the original ending story for both Ventress and Adi Gallia, both of whom have seemingly had their fates changed by TCW. Officially, Chee said that it is not Adi's final canon death nor the canon end of Ventress' story. After debating what to do about this story for 3 years, I have stumbled upon what I believe to be the best possible solution. Obsession occurs between seasons 3 and 4, after Ventress leaves Dooku, but before she begins bounty hunting. Dooku secretly recaptures her and brainwashes her. Anakin assumed her dead because of the chaos in their last fight in Witches of the Mist. Adi is wounded by Grievous, but survives this fight. After faking her death, Ventress escapes and eventually returns to the Nightsisters. Because she never works with Dooku again after Obsession, the original intent of the story (her escape from the war, and from Dooku) is preserved, while the story can still happen before Adi dies. This also leaves open the possibility that she may yet die in the upcoming TCW "bonus content".

**Originally, I was going to have Boba Fett books 2-3 occur before TCW, but it turns out there is a source which claims Boba's escape from Bespin is roughly the same time as the TCW film. As a result, I am moving his escape ahead while keeping the rest of the book 2's events earlier. Book 3 now occurs shortly before the events of the first Boba arc. Putting aside their differences, Boba Fett decided to work together with Aura Sing after book #3, sometime after recovering Slave I, leading to the first Boba Fett s2 arc. The helmet that was destroyed in this arc was one of many. He remains in prison for quite some until the Rako Hardeen Arc. Shortly after escaping, he resumes his hunt for Jabba the Hutt. He becomes a full time bounty hunter by the time we get to the s4 finale arc. Books 5-6 can occur in 19BBY as they were originally intended, sometime after the events of Season 5. As long as the bonus content does not explicitly show how Fett got his green armor, the last 2 books can remain intact.

Yeah, I'm beginning to like the placement of Obsession in your timeline. Perhaps Adi's recent injuries are the reason she went out like a punk in Revival. :p

Excellent work! This is really shaping up to be great. I'm glad you found that old thread useful.

I'm a little rusty on some of these stories, but generally I think it works. I haven't played much of The Clone Wars Adventures, so I can't be of much help there.

I believe there are also The Clone Wars UK comics that need to be added. We never got to them all on the old thread. They begin in Volume 6. http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Star_Wars_Comic_UK

If I can get a look at some of them, I'll let you know what I find.

Which models in Senate Murders conflict with Heroes on Both Sides and Pursuit of Peace? As I recall, the episode guides for the latter episodes pointed out that Anakin, Ahsoka and Obi-Wan didn't appear in the final cut of Senate Murders, which was fortunate because it was later set later on with those episodes. Of course, now that I want to link that, it seems that starwars.com has taken down their old trivia galleries in their episode guides...

I found a few random issues of the UK comic. Generally, I'd assume that they are set around the same time as the episodes that were on when each comic was released. Even so, here's what I've found:

6.3 - "In Triplicate" -- Thugs capture Padmé and take her to Coruscant's undercity. Anakin rescues her - which actually turns out to be two of her decoys.
6.4 - "The Droid Deception" -- Mace and Obi-Wan infiltrate a Separatist base. Features Commander Ponds, so set before his death.
6.10 - "Suited" -- Anakin and Ahsoka infiltrate the Techno Union to get Battle Droid Plans. They try to turn Anakin into a...robot? Techno Union cyborg?
6.14 - "In the Air" -- Ventress attempts to sabotage a Tibanna Gas Mining Station that Obi-Wan and Yoda are visiting. Set while Ventress is Dooku's assassin, before Nightsisters.
6.15 - "Spices and Spies" -- Cad Bane and a Jawa accomplice on Tatooine fight Sulphurr Cyander, who apparently also appeared in 6.12.
6.16 - "Hunted" -- Anakin and Obi-Wan fight Ventress. Set while Ventress is Dooku's assassin, before Nightsisters.
6.17 - "Burn the Behemoth!" -- Anakin and Obi-Wan lead their troopers against a giant tank. Anakin and Obi-Wan have updated Season 3 appearance, Clone Troopers still wear Phase I armor.
6.18 - "Repel All Boarders!" -- Obi-Wan and Ahsoka flee Vulture Droids aboard the Twilight. Updated models again. The Clones with them are at one point referred to as "Clone Engineers". Their helmets appear to be Phase II, but it is somewhat unclear as the visors are drawn like large rectangles that are sometimes misshapen.

Any more research you can do for the UK comics would be appreciated, as I have no easy access to them right now. Eventually, I would like to add them, but it may take time.

[face_plain] I had completely forgotten that Senate Murders was Obi-Wan/Anakin/Ahsoka-less. Those three have the most annoying tendency to needlessly pop up in episodes not centered on them, so I took them for granted.

That's good, though. Perhaps the Heroes on Both Sides-Pursuit of Peace-Senate Murders story arc could take place after 15:3:02 (Battle of Duro, whatever it is that happened there)? Unless there are further contradictions. HEDGESMFG says that that would probably be earlier, so I guess there must be.

Had to change the order of the Boba Fett books after I realized 2 major issues... Durge 'and' Slave I both appear in book #4. Luckily, the solution is easy. Just move book #4 back to being next to book #3. It can still leave room for Boba's TCW experiences, with books 5-6 at the end of the timeline.

Books 3 and 4 now occur shortly before the events of the first Boba arc. Putting aside their differences, and having now gained Jabba's respect, Boba Fett decided to work together with Aura Sing after book #3 and 4, sometime after recovering Slave I from her, leading to the first Boba Fett s2 arc. Boba later loses it again in TCW to Hondo, but recovers it in an unknown story after s5, but before Book #5. The helmet that was destroyed in his first arc was one of many. He remains in prison for quite some until the Rako Hardeen Arc. Shortly after escaping, he returns to working for Jabba the Hutt.

Why not just brand Obsession an Infinities and be done with it? Are events in the series really mentioned anywhere else? If not, to Infinity and beyond, I say.
