Whoa...the new trilogy will result in all the Star Wars books and comics on my shelves being destroyed?! Will they spontaneously combust? Or will they go from house to house like in Fahrenheit 451 and seek out any illegal EU meterial?

I'd actually enjoy an EU book burning scene in the movie.

Seriously what the hell ? Why so much hate ? I am new here, but I use other SW message boards for more than a decade, and I've never seen something like that before.

Let's be clear - I LOVE THE FACT THAT NEW EPISODES ARE COMING.

Second thing : I DON'T WANT MOVIE BASED ON SOMETHING FROM EU.

All I want is New Trilogy that doesn't ruin EU. That's it Damn, I am even OK with some small changes/retcons in EU if the 3rd Trilogy force it on Star Wars. Really.

I am super excited about new films, I DON'T HATE THEM. I just don't want all the books, games and comics to be non-canon. Period.

So. Once again, why so much hate. You think I'm against Disney Trilogy or something ?

 

I'm not a hater, I've got a load of EU material on my shelves.
And I've also been posting on these boards for quite a while and you cannot even begin to imagine the horror of the EU canon/non-canon debates here.

So I just like to make fun of it, cause people take it way too seriously.

 

Come on over to the eu community. For whatever reason, there is a lot of bitterness toward the eu in several of the boards, but we would love to have you come talk about the eu with us.

1. Disney will not care about the Expanded Universe, and good so. I don't like many parts of the Post-Endor-EU, they'd ruin the movies. Star Wars films > Star Wars literature, videogames, roleplays et cetera
2. The Expanded Universe won't be destroyed, 'cause LFL isn't going to send strike teams into every SW fan's home burning all Star Wars literature into ash with flame throwers.^^ It can only loose it's status as "official canon", but who cares?
3. Resistance is futile, DEAL WITH IT.
