You know what's sad about all of Marvel's movie efforts? Rocket Raccoon and Batroc the Leaper will be gracing the big screen before there's a decent Wonder Woman movie!

Not really. I think it speaks more to hobbled status of women's characters overall that Wonder Woman is still considered the iconic female superhero than to some sort of bias hidden in the fact that her particular franchise can't take off. Quite frankly, the roots of the whole thing are bizarre, and tied in with the author's strange fetishes. In borrowing so heavily from mythology, it risks being an also ran with the three near-identical Titan movies that have come out in the last 18 months, or else the Perseus Jackson and the Children's Adventure Novel series. The rogue's gallery isn't particularly strong and most people who have been introduced to her in the last decade or so are used to seeing the character in the context of a larger team, which is a very different animal than trying to carry an entire story one's self. There's plenty of reasons I can see a studio not going ahead with this.

 

Plus there are the obvious ties between BDSM and the Illuminati.

 

JTS: Yeah, they have only themselves to blame for why we don't have live-action Metal Men and Doom Patrol films now, along with a live-action Justice League movie and Challengers of the Unknown and a Green Lantern Corps spin-off to the Green Lantern films.

The Wolverine looks good, but the trailer kept reminding me of Ninja Assassin which was godawful and stupid.

 

The trailers for The Wolverine look alright, but after the catastro-**** that was Origins, I'm going to wait for the reviews to roll in.

 

Meh. Robert Redford has the same screen presence as a tub of spoiled cottage cheese, and his involvement will most likely be every bit as bland, uneventful, and downright stupid as Martin Sheen playing Ben Parker.

 

Not my fault Redford is boring.

 

You probably think RPattz is the greatest actor ever, huh?

 

No. R.Downz is.

But at least Pattinson is not as boring as Redford.
