The battle I watched featured Viszla firing laser after laser at Maul, shooting at him with a flamethrower, blasting razor disks at him and using his jetpack to fly out of Maul's reach. To me it sure looked like he was relying on his tech more than anything.

(Not that it's a bad thing, of course. Like Cad Bane, he was just trying to even the playing field a bit against an opponent with powerful Force-enhanced powers and reflexes)

Well the one I saw showed Vizsla and maul dueling for many minutes, and for long periods of time without vizsla using his equipment and just his saber. guess we saw different fights...

Next is category 7: The most interesting character of the year.
    And the nominees are:
    Asajj Ventress
    Barriss Offee
    Bo-Katan
    Ahsoka Tano
    Darth Maul
    And the winner is...
    Ahsoka Tano!
Ahsoka Tano's stand out performance was during the arc where she was blamed for the bombing of the Jedi Temple, when it was actually her close Jedi friend, Barriss Offee. Ahsoka broke out of prison and ran away into the lower levels of Coruscant, but this wasn't enough to keep her away from the authorities, and soon found herself being chased by several police. Ahsoka soon found herself in the hands of the former Sith, Asajj Ventress, who is now a bounty hunter. After negotiating, Ventress agreed to help Ahsoka find out who was the one setting her up, to make her look guilty. They fought off many Clone Troopers together and continued to move, but then the real saboteur, Barriss Offee, attacked and defeated both of them, leaving Ahsoka to be taken back to the Jedi Temple, where she was expelled from the Jedi Order. After ebbing proven innocent and Barriss being caught, she decided to leave the Jedi Order.

I think that Bo-Katan should have won the 'most interesting character' category; I thought she was a lot more interesting and intriguing than Ahsoka and I kept wondering in which direction they would take the character.

I voted for Savage Opress for everything he was an option for but...not dueling. Darth Sidious looked so much like Ep. III when he fought, it was far beyond epic.

Let's just say Hondo absolutely owned everyone, and Gascon only got two votes, but that was more than all of the other characters.

He was funny to me because me and my brother would go around impersonating him.. I guess without someone to share a laugh about Gason with, he wouldnt seem that funny...

Yes, someone who let Ahsoka escape and got killed in his second duel should definitely have won. I mean, it's far more impressive than what Darth Sidious accomplished, isn't it?

Yeah it was. some random non force user being able to force ahsoka into retreat and go toe-to-toe with maul was better than what sidious did

    No.

    - It was Ahsoka's intention to escape so he did not 'force her into retreat'. She outsmarted him and destroyed his jetpack. Grievous was also a non-Force user, and he managed to do better against her. You might as well have voted for him.
    - You mean after he used up all his useless gadgets and gizmos? After he got overpowered in ligtsaber combat? After he hand his arm snapped/dislocated/twisted? After he received a complete bollocking to his head? After he got beheaded by his own weapon? He stood no chance against Maul. For the most part he was flying around the room away from him, hoping to strike him down from a distance.
    - Sidious wiped the floor with two Sith Lords, managing to kill one and completely incapacitate the other without breaking a sweat. And you still consider Vizsla's dueling more impressive? How laughable.

Next is category 6: The original character of the year.
    And the nominees are:
    Bo-Katan
    Savage Opress
    Hondo Ohnaka
    Huyang
    Ahsoka Tano
    And the winner is...
    Bo-Katan!
Bo-Katan was introduced into the series in the season four episode, 'A Friend in Need', where she was a villain, but during season five she became one of the heroes. Bo-Katan is a Mandalorian that used to be part of Death Watch, but after Darth Maul killed Pre Vizsla and half of the Death Watch joined him, she ran off with the other half of Death Watch. When Obi-Wan Kenobi came to Mandalore to rescue Duchess Satine Kryze, Maul killed her right in front of him to get his revenge, and sent him away to the prison instead of killing him as well. Bo-Katan came to the rescue with the other Mandalorians and helped Obi-Wan escape from prison, and then they fought off some of Maul's Mandalorian Super Commandos together, then Obi-Wan left Bo-Katan on Mandalore to finish fighting the war. Just before Obi-Wan left he asked Bo-Katan if she was Satine's sister, but she didn't even have to answer for him to know she was.

I get what you're saying here and probably agree. Vizsla's a Forceless mook; for him to hold his own against Obi-Wan and Maul and stalemate Ahsoka is pretty damn impressive and defies the odds. Sidious laying waste to his enemy is almost guaranteed.

Next is category 5: The droid of the year.
    And the nominees are:
    R2-D2
    C-21 Highsinger
    WAC-47
    Huyang
    And the winner is...
    R2-D2!
R2-D2 was Anakin Skywalker's astromech droid, and he helped him out on many occasions. During the battle of Cato Neimoidia, R2-D2 helped land Anakin's ship on a cliff while he was unconscious, and gave Ahsoka time to jump onto his ship and rescue him. R2-D2's stand out performance was in season five during the droid arc, where he and the rest of D-Squad, helped steal a Separatist encryption module, which would give the Republic a great advantage if they got hold of it. R2-D2 helped fight a super tactical droid called Aut-O for the encryption module, and was even the one to destroy him. after a long journey, they eventually got it back to a Republic Cruiser, or so they thought. The ship was actually controlled by Separatists, and in command of the ship was another super tactical droid, which R2-D2 defeated as well. After R2-D2 defeated him, he managed to disable the bomb, which was actually the entire ship, and it exploded just before its target, which was a Republic fleet. Anakin Skywalker ordered a salvage team to find R2-D2 after he heard that he was still on the ship when it exploded. After the salvage team found him, he was repaired and reunited with Anakin once again.

Savage Opress was introduced in Season Three...so he technically shouldn't have even counted.
Which probably affected the number of votes.

Next is category 4: The bounty hunter of the year.
    And the nominees are:
    Asajj Ventress
    Embo
    Cad Bane
    And the winner is...
    Asajj Ventress!
Asajj Ventress was originally a Sith apprentice, who's master was Count Dooku, but when Darth Sidious order Dooku to kill her, she was no longer on the Separatists side. After a couple of attempts to kill Dooku, she decided she would no longer be a Sith, so she went back to her home planet, Dathomir, where Mother Talzin made her a proper night sister. But Dooku still wanted her dead, so he order General Grievous to attack Dathomir, there Grievous and his droid army killed all of the witches leaving Ventress with nothing. Ventress then left and went to Tatooine, where she found herself having to help a group of bounty hunters, with their boss being Boba Fett. After completing the mission and getting paid, she decided to become a bounty hunter. Ventress then appeared in the season five episode, 'To Catch a Jedi', where she captured Ahsoka because of the bounty she had, but they ended up working with each other to help prove Ahsoka's innocence. Ventress ended up giving Anakin Skywalker the biggest lead of the investigation, by saying that the only other person Ahsoka had spoken to was Barriss Offee, so Anakin set off to capture Barriss, and once he did, Ahsoka was proven innocent.

Next is category 3: The villain of the year.
    And the nominees are:
    Barriss Offee
    Savage Opress
    Mister Borkus
    Darth Sidious
    Darth Maul
    And the winner is...
    Darth Maul!
Darth Maul made his first appearance in the episode, 'Brothers', during season four, and was one of the main villains in season five. Darth Maul supposedly died during 'The Phantom Menace', where Obi-Wan Kenobi cut him in half, but this wasn't enough to kill him. He explaind to his brother, Savage Opress, that the only thing keeping him alive was wanting to get revenge on Obi-Wan Kenobi. After Mother Talzin had fixed him up and given him a new lower body, he made Obi-Wan come to the planet Raydonia, where him and Savage captured him and brought him inside their ship. Asajj Ventress, who was Savage's former master, appeared on the ship and team up with Obi-Wan to fight the brothers. Obi-Wan and Ventress managed to escape in the cockpit. After being rescued by Pre Vizsla and the Death Watch, they formed an army together and took control of Mandalore, but Maul managed to kill Pre Vizsla, making him the ruler of Mandalore. Obi-Wan came to Mandalore after receiving a message from Duchess Satine Kryze saying that Mandalore has been taken over, but Maul finally got his revenge by killing Satine in front of Obi-Wan.

    And the nominees are:
    Ahsoka Tano
    Obi-Wan Kenobi
    Anakin Skywalker
    And the winner is...
    Obi-Wan Kenobi!
Obi-Wan Kenobi has been in many battles and duel throughout season four and season five, but his stand out performance was during the Darth Maul storyline. Obi-Wan supposedly killed Darth Maul many years ago on Naboo when he was just a Padawan, but Maul survived fuelled by hatred of Obi-Wan, and only wanting one thing, which was revenge. Obi-Wan fought Maul on Maul and Savage's ship, after being captured on Raydonia, but Obi-Wan soon found himself teamed up with Asajj Ventress, who helped him fight the brothers and escape from the ship. Obi-Wan went to Florrum with Jedi Master Adi Gallia, after finding out that's where the brother had gone to next. They both fought the brothers, but Savage Opress managed to kill Adi Gallia, so Obi-Wan retreated with Hondo Ohnaka into the ruins that were once his home. Obi-Wan drew the brothers away from Hondo and the pirates, and dueled them both with his and Adi Gallia's lightsaber. Obi-Wan managed to chop Savage's arm off and make the brothers retreat. When Obi-Wan went to Mandalore after getting Duchess Satine Kryze's help message, he soon found himself captured once again by the brothers. After Maul killed Satine in front of him, her sister, Bo-Katan, helped Obi-Wan escape, and together they fought off some of Maul's Mandalorian super commandos before Obi-Wan left Mandalore.
