PT Anyone else afraid Disney is going to pretend the prequels don't exist?

    Wraping the main story and diving into what you consider unnecessary arcs are not mutually exclusive. They planned to do both but the series was cancelled. Thus, it wasn't their fault.

    Never mind Disney. JJ Abrahms, Arndt, Kasdan et al are very good reasons to have hope. Yeah sure we won't get the Fox logo but I can live with that. If they don't pull it off, then there you go. The world will go on.

    So if the next movies don't "pretend the prequels don't exist", what exactly would that mean? No unnecessary exposition in the dialogue? No japor snippet carving? No Sith, apprentice, Jedi, padawan, Naboo, Kamino, clonetroopers? Would that really bother people if there aren't lines mentioning specific events of the Clone Wars or appearances by ghosts of Qui-Gon or Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan? Do people feel there can't be a decent STAR WARS movie without doing so?

    I have no fear that Disney will disregard the prequels but I also don't think the sequels need to go out of their way to mention things from them if they're not relevant to the plot. It's obviously too early to tell if there will be things from the PT that is relevant to the ST but if there is then I don't expect Arndt/Lucas to shy away from things like midi-chlorians, the prophecy, Darth Plagueis, etc. It all depends on what the story is about.
