Hmmm...definitely Raiders. I won't even watch Temple of Doom. Willie Scott is an affront to all women. Quit whining you stupid *****.

As far as Arndt, I'm confident in his ability to write a good screenplay. I'm a little more worried about Abrams' direction than Arndt's writing.

    Oh, THIS THIS THIS.

I loathe Willie, and she ruins what was otherwise - oh never mind, it would have been a terrible movie anyway.

Have you guys have read the notes from the Lucas, Spielberg, and Kasdan pre-Raiders meeting?
Holy crap! That is a fascinating read. I fear what we would have gotten if not for Kasdan. Lucas and Spielberg are like 12 year olds.

Right now I think I want an interview with Michael Arndt way more than I do an official confirmation of the Big 3. I mean we all know that they're coming back but this guy seems to have gone into the Witness Protection Program. When was the last time he was even heard from?

Last interview I've seen was from very early 2012 *could have been 2011*. Definitly before he was announced as SW writer

Disney is really keeping him under lock! I mean we've heard from Abrams, Kennedy, Burke, Kasdan and Kinberg but not a peep from him. I really want to listen to what he has to say about his involvement thus far.

I'm still convinced that the scene in Toy Story 3 where Big Baby lifts Lotso over his head and throws him down into the dumpster is a reference to the scene in ROTJ when Vader lifts Palpatine over his head and throws him down the shaft. Arndt may not have come up with it himself, and there were SW references in earlier Toy Storys too (at least the father revelation in Toy Story 2), but I still take it as a good sign.

Yeah. In a way, I'm more interested in reading (or watching) an interview with him than Abrams. As of now, at least.

Do screenwriters get enough attention to warrant interviews? Normally in cinema it's the director of a film that gets all the attention. This is especially true of big budget blockbusters like Star Wars. Heck even the producers tend to get more creative credit than a film's writer these days. I'd love to see an interview with Arndt, but I really don't think we will for a while to come now that JJ is the public face of the project.

I'm pretty sure there are lots of people out there that would want to interview the writer of the new Star Wars film.

Very very true. The dude legit knows all of the secrets regarding the sequel trilogy, maybe moreso than Abrams.

I was reading about the Lucasarts dismantle and the cancellation of the tv show an an apparent focus on post VI material for a new series. Games and books about post VI to follow. It seems like we have enough info here to pretty much guess this trajectory!:_|

So I watched Toy Story 3 today *which BTW is one of the most perfect movies ever* and I love how its basic theme kind of fits the new trilogy. IMO the basic theme of Toy Story 3 is letting go of the past in order to embrace the future. That could totally work for the sequel trilogy which *so far* seems to be about the next generation. A story about letting go of our childhood icons in order to begin embracing a newer generation of heroes would fit perfectly for this movie.

BTW: If you havn't seen Toy Story 3 go watch it now. It is perfection.

So now you've indulged yourself in the 'perfection' that is TS3 (again?) are you less pessimistic for EVII? Or has it ramped up your expectations even more?!! Lol

I'm a pessimistic worrysome girl. I learned from past movies that nothing is guaranteed to be great and nobody is guaranteed to give a good movie *like how the hell did the guy who made Casino Royale make Green Lantern?*. That being said, Arndt and Abrams give me hope but I am always cautiously optomistic *due to my horrible past with hyped up movies*

Yep. People need to prove to me that they can do a good job. I'm not much of a blind faith kind of girl. Blind faith leads to disappointment and the denial of the true quality of the film

It's beautiful film and it's part (along with LMS of course) of why I'm so excited that Arndt was hired to write Episode VII. I'm already planning on see Oblivion when it comes out and I might check out Catching Fire too. I'm really interested in seeing if there as good.

The more you tighten your grip Abrams, the more spoilers will slip through your fingers.
