If Jeth doesn't hate Fress, he will because she just ordered Atin to lock up any booze on the Crusader

Sith, the references I'm getting from the Wookieepedia state 3 separate Mon Calamari fleets of unknown size against (unknown) size of Imperial forces. So its a throw up, which is one of the reasons I went with your idea of the Blockade of Yavin for the second game (I think you suggested it at least). Its in canon and aside from a few key points, we can play with the battles' details as we see fit and stay within canon mostly.

    Cool.

Are the Mercs going to be getting a base of operations, either here or in the second game? In terms of characters own ships, when I joined, it wasn't an issue what we brought with us, as after every mission, we returned to Port Haven and parked on the beach.

Only since we signed up with the Jod, and been on the run from Soal, has the issue of how much we can fit inside the Johnny Boy, or the Delinquent, come up?

Just had a thought, perhaps the Mercs could take the Vella Gulf? Basically, we need something like the Javin Bucket, which, to the new people, was an old de-commissioned Venator that was operating as a shadowport.

First Introduction Draft (part 2) for Intervention: Allegiance

Additions from the draft posted yesterday. Thoughts?

Minutes before the Battle of Pinoora, 6 months after the Battle of Yavin during the Evacuation of Yavin

The reflection of deep space's startling beauty---its distant nebula's and stars---reflected off of Yavscout's bubble visor as he put a jump to his step and hoped the strength of his jump was enough to propel him to his next destination ahead. If it wasn't, instead of being a unwilling victim of the vacuum of space, the Surefall Paramedic, Galactic Republic Security Agency field agent, and Merc second-in-command would use his EV suit's miniature rockets to give him the extra boost he needed. But, as he floated across the silent expanse of deep space where noise did not travel and only breathing inside his helmet gave him some normalcy that this wasn't all just a dream, he touched down on the emergency hatch, grasping hold onto the exterior handle to prevent him from floating away into the vacuum death he so wished to avoid. He now held tightly to one of the emergency hatches under the port side base of the T of a Imperial I-class Star Destroyer. He quickly reactivated his palm magnetic gloves and feet and moved several feet over, the magnetic surfaces gluing him to the armored surface of the Star Destroyer. With fine-toothed control, he deactivated and reactivated every palm and foot surface as he moved with many hours of training and repetition drilled into him for the training for this mission.
He looked down, seeing two other EV suited beings floating his way through the gravity-less vacuum of space, the top level of the "super structure" of a Star Destroyer's hull visible, the extruding "neck" of the bridge tower to the beings' right. The first being landed; Yavscout could tell who he was by the being's fiery speech about needing his "bucket" for the mission, despite a EV suit helmet being over that. Regardless, the Mercs' Security Chief Beskaryc Taab was well suited physically for what came next, as his body tensed and he "caught" Havah Jeth's form. The human and Arkanian respectfully worked themselves out and the three Mercs were along the hull, their magnetic surfaces keeping them fast to the Star Destroyer's hull, waiting for the "go signal". Well, they were almost all still. Havah Jeth was busy by the emergency hatch using the security code breaker data-pad and codes that Rusty "Two Thumbs" McWilliams had prepared for them for this mission...

    Pinoora System

Atin Taab didn't know whether he should feel like the luckiest person part of this crazy mission or the loneliest. While his father had authorized, with great reservation, that the Crusader be turned into floating debris---on the outside at least if appearances were to be taken at face value----Atin had been the one volunteered to act essentially as the middle man: the life and communication link between his father's advance team on the Star Destroyer and surrounding Imperial fleet just inside sensor range (if his sensors were on that is) and the combined Mon Calamari, Kingdom of Jod, and Merc fleet blazing their way through hyperspace and on course to exit any minute and pound the Imperials into star dust. What his lonely mission was essentially---with the droids Ler and Dak keeping him company in the cockpit, but being droids and shut down at the moment, didn't register on life sign scans or energy scans---to act as a relay station to "boost" the data-burst message to the advance team that the fleet was approaching and act as their pick-up (as he had acted as their drop-off earlier) after their mission was said and done, Atin also knew he and his droid crew could provide a tactical advantage if the battle was evenly matched, which considering the Empire's Imperial-class Star Destroyers, Victory-class Star Destroyers, and numerous support ships, the battle would be.
But for now, Atin suffered in a ship all but "dead" with minimal life support running, him freezing, and no gravity as he watched a wrapper from his lunch float past him in the cockpit. Energy signals had to be reduced and so far, it had been working...

    Hanger Bay, Johnny Boy, hyperspace

The Johnny Boy was part of a much bigger fleet that shot through hyperspace all around: 3 MC80 Liberty type Star Cruisers, 5 MC30c frigates, 1 King II-class Battleship, 2 Petulant-class Heavy Cruisers, 3 Vigorous-class Frigates, and 2 Strike-class Corvettes. Squadron Leader Fress Colias tried to not think about what was about to happen and even though she tried, all the years of experience behind her as a starfighter pilot through the Clone Wars, she couldn't shake the butterflies in her stomach. It was a frustrating feeling and one that was only made worse by the fact that she had to sit here and wait for those blasted hanger doors to open. Her concern wasn't on her---or even on Josch Decinchi---but on what she had to do as a Squadron Leader to make sure they all made it home safe. That thought alone, the responsibility of making sure everyone came home, kept her up the night before. It always had and she doubted it would leave now.

And she knew what would happen next, as her restless sleep had showed her last night. And while she hated the prospect of war, she knew deep down inside the only way to defeat the Empire was through war. She glanced her way to Kasumi, one of her closet friends on the Johnny Boy. The two shared a glance and smiled at each other. That smile seemed to put some water on the fire of worry in her stomach, but Fress knew, once those blast doors opened, every decision she made as Squadron Leader would either bring one of them closer home or closer to death.

For her part, Kasumi was stuck in her cockpit like Fress: no where to go and nothing but passive thought to consume the medium in between peace and chaos. She thought about home---now gone because of the Empire---and of Yoda. She smiled at the memory of her old Jedi Master. Kasumi wasn't worried about what was about to happen, but she couldn't say she was at peace with it either. The Empire had taken her home of Alderaan and had killed billions in the process of firing the Death Star. While her Jedi training told her to let go of such feelings such as hatred, she used the memory of Alderaan to kindle a resolve in her to see justice again in the galaxy. A justice that, unless the Force called her back to Endor before it was completed, that she would see finished

Josch Decinchi tore his eyes away from Fress, as he watched her in her cockpit from his, on the other side of the hanger bay. He was swirling his deactivated lightsaber hilt around in his right hand, giving his mind something to focus on other then the coming hell and the beauty that he saw as Fress sitting across the hanger from him. This mission wouldn't of been so bad if it wasn't for the fact that his mind would be---no matter how much he tried it not to---distracted on Fress' safety. He had thought about asking for another assignment, maybe with the advanced strike team on the Star Destroyer, but had delayed his request, knowing his skills as a starfighter pilot were needed here. A beep over his helmet comlink tore him away from his thoughts of concern.

"Guardian Flight, three minutes to launch. Stay frosty and make the Force be with you."

    Bridge, Johnny Boy, hyperspace

Lasso was singing a tune quietly as he slouched in the Captain's chair, tapping his right hand's fingers on the right arm rest to the tune.

"Exiting hyperspace, Captain in..." Spoke Chief Helms Officer Andrew 'Guitar' Monk suddenly, "Five...four...three..."

The space on the Johnny Boy was a concern since wildwookie, DREAMSTAR, and company; WW was the first to have a separate ship completely that could still land in the JB (Delta-7 escort shuttle), while DREAMSTAR and CO had a whole another ship on a capital-ship level. Both WW and DS were experimentation's into expansion from a single ship (the Johnny Boy) to multiple capital ships and freighters. The results were mixed, providing most useful and beneficial with DREAMSTAR and CO. I wouldn't mind using the DD as a mobile command base (and would be my first choice), as long as players and staff understanding that the DD isn't going to be used as a mobile toy box on beck and call; often times, the JB and DD will be separated by days or weeks via hyperspace and I want the story to focus on the Johnny Boy, with ships like the DD providing that amazing depth to the game as a whole. So, yes, the DD as a mobile supply/temporary home base I'm fine and Port Haven still as our Port of Call. I would just like the game to focus around the Johnny Boy and the resources available on the JB, with ships like the DD and other "personal" freighters etc. acting as added muscle to a mission...on a limited basis. Does all of that make sense?

    Zhoul Al'Kesh

I cannot help thinking, that guy's been named after a Goa'uld starship. Perhaps he can tell people his parents were small ship designers.

Actually, that will probably be Yav's first question: "Al'Kesh, eh? Were your parents' fans of a sci-fi show featuring a big stone ring?"

    or

Lasso "Welcome, Captain Yavscout. You are my first officer now. Oh, this is Mister Al'Kesh"

Yav "Well, I'm not one to let power go to my head, but your callsign is 'Chevron Four Encoded'."

The below information is the beginning of Chapter Five, Echoes in Eternity. This chapter intro also acts as a brief, summarized version of a Game Summary for our newer players. Also, going with the final chapter of the game, Intervention: Allegiance's game title has officially been changed to Intervention: Echoes in Eternity. I thought the name change was appropriate with the direction my game notes are taking me for the second game and how this game in concluding; I wanted the final chapter of this game to foreshadow the second game's events.

    STAR WARS: INTERVENTION
    June 2009 to present

    CHAPTER 5
    Echoes in Eternity

Two months before the historical Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY, a small freelance mercenary outfit known as the Mercs engaged County of Lim military forces on the planet of Watava, in the Mid Rim, aiding the Republic of Watava. The outcome of the battle would be decided by a Imperial Fleet arriving in orbit above the planet shortly after the battle begun, arriving on the pretense of ending the civil war between the Country of Lim and the Republic of Watava. As history would show, this was not the case; while the Mercs escaped, fleeing their contract to live and fight another day instead of being captured by Imperial forces, they fled with, ironically, the one item that had brought the Imperial fleet in orbit above the planet: the Red Rock.

The Red Rock, a piece of rock from a long ago dead planet, is said to have the properties of unlimited energy, healing ability, the power to produce Red Space---a speed of travel faster then Hyperspace---and the key to the mythical and legendary Kingdom of Jod. The Red Rock can only be fully utilized by recombining all of the missing fragments of the once whole planet; the Red Rock, having the ability to self-regenerate, is called to other pieces of its planet. Using this ability, the Galactic Empire commissions a secret task force under the command of ISB Investigator Hilick Soal in 2 BBY, the mission for its twelve warships: to recover all the missing pieces of the Red Rock Planet and recombine them at Project Zero, the codename the Empire uses for rebuilding the Red Rock Planet beyond the planet of Christophsis in the Outer Rim. The Planet of Watava would be one of Investigator Hilick Soal's last stops before completing his 2 year assignment. The Mercs, recovering the piece of Red Rock unknowingly, rob the Investigator of achieving his mission objective and the Empire gives chase to the fleeing Mercs from Watava.

The Mercs---pursued by Imperial forces and other events across countless battlefields including the Octagon, Free Trader's Alley, Captain 'One Eye,' The Debris Field, Asteroid One, Desert Planet 22-52A, the rescue of Winterkill and the Victory-class Star Destroyer Red Death, the Imperial Convoy, the Red Ocean, the Imperial Trap, the Block, the Greater Javin, and countless smaller events and battles within those---have emerged a wiser, but much depleted mercenary unit. Through alliances with the Rebel Alliance, once thought impossible by Merc command, and the mysterious Kingdom of Jod, the "Mercs" have endured much, suffered much, and---it would appear--achieved little in the face of Aldeeran's recent destruction by the Empire's super weapon, the Death Star.

Their leader gone, as well as their second-in-command, a young new leader has taken over as the Mercs' leader through the coming events. Prophecies of a Chosen One to bring balance to the Force and of the Mercs themselves being the secret protectors of that Chosen One through the Select Chosen Prophecy shape the Mercs' later adventures against Imperial forces closer to the events of the Death Star. The Prophecy of the Select Chosen reads like this:Like shooting fires across the stars, they will be the galaxy's heroes in it's most desperate need and darkest hour. They will be like wild fire to the civilizations, not heeding to control or authority, but wild and rogue in heart and spirit. Heroes of justice, of right, of nobleness. Of volition they will be. Of character will shape their path. Guardians of the Stars they will be known as.

The Mercs enter the final stages of their campaign against Imperial forces in desperate need of heroes themselves. Rebuilding their shattered unit under a new leader and preparing for a final showdown against Imperial forces at Project Zero with their Rebel and Jod allies, the Mercs' have one final card to play as their piece of Red Rock---captured by Imperial forces---is on its way to Project Zero to complete the Empire's evil plans...but also destroy the Empire's efforts as well with a secret by one of the few surviving Jedi left in the galaxy embedded in that piece of Red Rock.

As forces of good and evil face down across the galaxy, from Yavin 4 to Project Zero, echoes in eternity will be the decisions of a few, as revelations of things yet to come are made and allegiances are made for the coming War of Shadows...

Will be getting to that tag, Mitth, ASAP. :) Been neck deep in the Quick Reference last few days. CPL_Macja, great work on the Library Thread Wiki! :D

Okay, so the Force Ranking System (aka the "Force Chart") is up and running in the Quick Reference for Level One. Let me know what you all think, so I can make changes accordingly. I revamped the old system, to make it more user-friendly and practical. Level Two will be coming soon.

The Force Chart is located directly under Declarations, Copyright, Timeline, and Game Policies. Furthermore, I will be working on a index for the Quick Reference as soon as I get everything shorted out.

Mitth_Fisto, I am getting to your tag ASAP. I got distracted...first by a Vigil-class Corvette 3D art from fractalspong.net, then by the British (Colonial CHROME)! After years and years of searching, finally, a British website has done...the simple. Given me a deck plan for a Marudaer-class Corvette! I am currently going over this puppy and reworking the JB as we speak, since this is the first (while not "official") deck plan of any starship I've ever seen for Star Wars aside from a few random transports here and there. But first, to Mitth's tag.

So, if I am reading the following correct, a Marauder-class Corvette has 3 decks (see the link here). The first photo, top of page, is of the outside, the second photo the bridge and top level, and so on to the last third level (hanger bay). Am I correct?

And now I just found this link here.

Well, tomorrow I will go through both websites with a fine tooth comb and rebuild the Johnny Boy for the remainder of this game and the second game. I am such a person for details! [face_beatup]

I am having an entertaining Saturday reading the Colonial CHROME site.

A lot of swearing, and I just learned some things in the author's rant against Doctor Who's Weeping Angels menace.
