Saga Unpopular Star Wars opinions!

I think the effects in the original star wars are terrible, i wish they would redo the cantina scene just becuz of the bad special effects

 

True, story-wise it's time has passed, perhaps.

 

I wouldn't mind another podrace, but I can see why it wouldn't happen, nor do I think the old one needs much improvement. But a similar high octane event would be welcomed... I think I could go with a horse race style of event in future movies. Riders on some form of creature, it could add a lot of power and unpredictability to proceedings, the Sebulba type character whipping one of the other racers into falling off and getting trampled etc.

Also, I thought the Zam Wessel chase scene could've been longer and more perilous... I loved the 'Lightsaber Lost' episode of TCW's Chase sequence for that reason. Some jumping from vehicle to vehicle would've been a nice touch!

Well, they'd be correct.

 

Indeed they would be... Except that they think "Sith" is Palpatine's race.

 

1. I like TPM and my liking of it grows more and more as time passes.

3. ESB is not my favorite movie.

4. I just can't make myself hate Jar-Jar or the Ewoks. I am indifferent.

i am the opposite with AOTC. i thought it was so cool when it first came out. as times passes, the jamming of all kinds of crap on screen, everybody having a lightsaber, the forced love story, and the over the top battles seem to almost make me hate it.

 

Dude, you're speaking my language. ESPECIALLY re: the love story. The moment those two start talking to each other I want to put my head through a wall.

I'm not really sure if this is unpopular but I don't like Zam Wessel. I mean why couldn't Jango just try to kill Padme by himself? Dooku asked Jango to do it, not Zam Wessel. There really wasn't any need for her IMO.

I like how Jabba looks in the 2004 version of ANH.

 

I think she was simply there to fail and be caught. If it was Jango doing the killing, Padme would have died early on in the film and that would have been a pretty tough corner to write your way out of.

 

I too, prefer the white walls. However, that's probably only because in about the past year I have become a Star Wars purist and I reject about 75% or more of all the changes Lucas has ever done.

 

The prequels were good, the majority of canon should be preserved and accommodated, the Clone Wars cartoon should be erased from history, and the Disney flicks will probably be lousy.

The first is (though I agree), the second isn't particularly unpopular, I think, (not sure of my opinion on it, though), the third is unpopular, I think, (and I strongly disagree), and the last one isn't particularly unpopular, either...

Unpopular SW opinions... Well...
- I think that the PT is superior to the OT
- OT is obsolete in terms of moviemaking, mostly action over logic
- ANH is filled with plot holes
- Despite all his fan-clubs and support groups, I think that spaceship eating space worm is the most ridiculous thing in the saga
- No, that's it for now.

 

I genuinely love The Star Wars Holiday Special. I don't lke it because it's silly enough to become laughable, I just love it in the true sense of the term. Same thing with the two Ewoks movies. Oh, and I also think that Willow and its spinoff novels *should* have been integrated in the Star Wars EU. For real. Not just as an April Fools' joke.

 

"It looks like a video game" is not a pejorative to me. Fumito Ueda is by far a better director than J.J. Abrams.

 

I'd rather watch the theatrical versions of the film on the 1995 "One Last Time" VHS tapes than watch the 2004 Special Edition DVDs or the 2011 Blu-rays.
