I prefer Lost and B5 to The Wire, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. Those shows just do nothing for me. Lost and B5 are fun, those other shows are just vaguely annoying.

Hearing that seriously gave me an awww moment. Not only did I was it when it was new, but years later I'd watch it when my then baby daughter woke for her middle of the night feedings.

Seinfeld is the most perfect television show ever made.

Yes, because none of my other choices were based on any qualitative criteria either. The great rainbow bridge in the sky be damned, I preferred the Unit to Generation Kill as far as entertainment goes. So what? It still shouldn't matter to you because of the nature of the list, which makes the nature of your post strangely focused. I thought Band of Brothers was just about perfect television, while The Pacific fell flat. Does that also mean I car park with David Schwimmer at Inspiration Point, but won't even return Joseph Mazzello's phone calls?

I could say that I thought Mr Ed was the best tv show ever, and guess what? You shouldn't loose sleep over the fact.

Speaking of Netflix, their House of Cards is very, very good. I wouldn't consider it BEST EVAR, but those lists get boring.

especially the season where Larry David was involved. Seinfeld is my fav show of all time but it jumped the shark with its last few seasons. It turned into more silly stupid comedy than smart witty comedy.

I watched way too much of Thundarr. I was on a Dying Earth kick though, and I liked the premise.

As far as typical tv comedies go Everybody loves Raymond is freaking awesome as well...

Its the best that type of family comedy format puts out. Great casting and just tons of laughs

Don't really have a single show, so I'll just list the ones I really like. :p

    Babylon 5
    Firefly
    Avatar: The Last Airbender
Legend of Korra (What's come out so far anyway)
    Fraiser
    Mythbusters
Battlestar Galactica (2003) (first two seasons were pretty good, the other two were kind of hit-or-miss)
The West Wing (like BSG, more the first half than the second half.)

I'll second Netflix's House of Cards as pretty good, though I still kinda prefer the original British version with Ian Richardson (pretty sure that's available on Netflix too).

And on the subject of Netflix, I might just have to check out Magnum PI.

I found the first "book" of Korra to be somewhat disappointing. I didn't really care about the bending competition, and everything seemed so small-scale compared to the previous series.

Well, it would have been much stronger if Amon had legitimate backing from the Spirit World, instead of being an insincere propagandist like he in fact turned out to be. But yeah, the "bending competition" thing got old really fast. As a favorite reviewer of mine put it after the championship episode: "Okay, so that means they are done with that part. It's over. I don't want to hear about bending contests anymore. No more."
