That would almost be too cruel for those of us who were hoping for Eccelestone.

they've got Gallifreyan in the background of the word "Doctor"....so will we perhaps have only Gallifreyan? Moffat, the troll, you know.

    Why the sad face, Juliet?

    Anyway, here's my theory:
This is when the Doctor tells River his name. Somehow he'll end up at Trenzalore and the Question will be asked. We know it must be answered, or the Doctor would die. So he answers it - but only to River, by telling her his name. After all, the rule doesn't say that the Question must be answered publicly. Plus, he needs to tell River his name anyway, so she knows it by the time she gets to the Library ("the only time I could" - to keep an established timeline).

    Sad face?
probably because "Fields of Trenzalore" is supposed to be the "fall of the Eleventh"?

And now, having had time to let it sink in,

    AWESOME!
    *house collapses*
    Maybe a bit too loud...

Didn't River already learn his name in Let's Kill Hitler?

It's not like he can't tell her twice, but she probably already knows.

You know, it wasn't very clear.

And you should probably put it under spoiler tags.

That was "The Wedding of River Song". We're talking about "Let's Kill Hitler".

No. The names of upcoming episodes are not spoilers, and any speculation based on said names is not spoilers. Spoilers means known information not publicly released. Let's not go overboard :)

    Much better.
Plus, if that's the last 'major'milestone between them before Darillium and the Library, then it could serve as the as a sendoff episode of sorts for River that some are wanting (Though I still hope River's in the 50th).

I wonder if the Doctor's Name is tied into solving the mystery of Clara?

I agree with Maria that his name is likely to be revealed privately. Probably to River. After all, the actual name of The Doctor isn't something I expect a show runner to be bold enough to pin down. Once it's out, it's canon and then, well... one of the mysteries inherent to the show is resolved. That's not a good outcome for anyone. Personally, for as long as the show runs I never want to know his name. Besides, the episode can be about his name, the consequences (good or bad) of revealing it, but not about the word(s) themselves.
Regarding spoilers, I am of the opinion that it's significant overkill to keep episode titles, and speculation based on those titles, behind spoiler tags. The thread is becoming nothing but a stream of ugly spoiler tags - which is always a warning to me that the correct balance has not been struck.

    Roommate finally watched Doomsday today.

After a week of me letting her think that they would actually kill Rose, she turned to me after the episode and yelled at me for leading her on. Aahahahahahah.

I expect we'll be learning the significance of the Doctor's name (why it's a secret, what the big deal is, etc) rather than what it actually is.

Though I'm willing to be surprised.

I envy your friend. As far as she's concerned, Rose hasn't been messed about. Her exit is still perfectly decent.

"Someone is kidnapping the Doctor's friends, leading him towards the one place in all of time and space that he should never go."

    ...

I hope "Doctor's friends" doesn't include Amy and Rory, because that would completely ruin their exit in "Angels Take Manhattan"...

well, the episode already ruined their exit anyway. So many ways around that, it's infuriating.

Not like any NuWho companion has had a permanent exit anyway. Not even death would be a certain end. So meh, I wouldn't care about the Ponds coming back for a one-off.

NuWho companions haven't had permanent exits, no, but that doesn't mean it would be okay to mess with the finality of Amy and Rory's exit. Moffat went to such lengths to give them (particularly her) a very clear entry to and exit from the Whoniverse. I'd like to see that respected. More than I would like to see either of them ever again.
