Buff, NY Logos for Merchandise - Replies Needed

I reached out to Matt and asked him if he could throw something together for us quickly in the hopes of running some patching and other swag. The files are not complete but will be vectorized (if that is a word) once we all agree that we like the artwork.

First up is a regular round group patch. There are 2 options. If we like, we can reserve one version to keep for members only and have the other version to use for trades or to give as thank yous or to guests who visit Buffalo.

Lastly, there is a specific patch to commemorate our 10 year anniversary.

Please share your thoughts. I hope to reply to Matt with any necessary changes by Wednesday April 24 to allow time to finalize them for production.

Merchandise will be available for current active standing members (those who have attended events, meetings, and regular postings on the message forums the last 3 months). An inventory will be kept on hand for new members who satisfy the active requirement in the future.

Steve Lu and I are working on pricing with a few different vendors.

 

I like the second one, I think the blue is a nice subtle touch

Oh man....I thought the at at would have the horns like in bisons logo .. lol

 

My idea is to run all the patches. As stated in the first post, we can use one round patch for group members and produce the other version to be used for fundraisers, or trades with other patch collectors.

I posted these to see if there were any changes we may find necessary.

 

Once you transfer the logo to a patch, the horns may not show other than a thicker line.

 

I like the blue patch for members, the white background for non-members and the 10th anniv. patch is just GREAT!

Like the others, I like 2 the best. For changes:
#1, we should center "Buffalo NY" on the bottom. Maybe remove the dash.
We can leave the lettering inverted, but I think it would look much better centered like the second one is.

I agree with Bills suggestions. I like #2 for members, #1 would be good as a trade/charity patch.

Personally I'm not a fan of the blue snowflake logo against the yellow field; too stark of a contrast for my taste. If the yellow were toned down to a more subtle "gold", it would probably have less contrast to it. Just my 2 cents. The basic concept for these first two patches is great.

As for the 10th Anniversary patch...it's a great idea but the lack of AT-AT legs really bugs me. The snowflake logo continues behind the font logo and below it, but the AT-AT does not. I like the idea of giving a nod to the old Bisons logo but I'd personally add the legs back through the bottom of the patch design.

 

Lets get the logos wrapped up so we can start collecting orders.

The colors have been inverted. The yellow is no longer in the middle with the snowflake, but on the outside ring

Does anyone else have concerns about the AT AT legs? Bryan posted about it, but no one else replied.

 

I like what we have and have no issues about the AT-AT. The design itself doesn't bother me because there is something taking up the space on the bottom. Any more would be too busy and too distracting.

Now that I look for the AT AT legs, I noticed their absence, but honestly, I agree with Jon that the bottom of the patch is very busy.

 

Looking at the 10 year patch, I do feel like it is a bit busy. I do not like the way you can see all I the background visual behind the The North Ridge logo. I am wondering how it would look if the logo box had a solid background. Then the snow flake and the AT-AT legs would not make the bottom as busy.
I am not very familiar with patches of this nature so I do realize these suggestions may not work. I thought I would mention them.
