Lit What sentient races (if any) are stronger than a Wookiee?

I'm curious if there are any races that are stronger than Wookiees. I'm talking about races that are that are generally similar in size to humans Wookiees. (For instance, I think there was some race of 100 foot tall giants in one of Ewok films; they wouldn't count. Or sarlacc is supposed to actually be a thinking thing (I believe), and maybe his tentacles are really strong, but he wouldn't count.)

The Houk and the Trandoshans are at least comparable.

And obviously there's the Tunroth, where it's apparently central to the species' whole identity.

 

In addition to those stated above, Togorians and Mandallian Giants are, I believe, in the same general strength class as Wookiees.

 

I don't know if Doodnik is, but I think like, if he used two of his arms to grapple with Chewie, he could like, use the other two to punch him. Yeah. Maybe even in the face.

I'd also think Herglics, Whipids, and maybe even Hutts are in that strength class. Hutt arms are marginal, but they can do a lot of damage with their tail.

 

Hoojibs. Also, Whaladons.

 

Yeah, people seem to forget that. I've seen those tails being described as capable of crushing a landspeeder into an unrecognizeable mess.

Now imagine getting hit in the face with one. Yeah, Hutts aren't as helpless as they appear.

I love these guys, and wish we saw more of them.

 

I personally wouldn't like to mess with a B'rknaa. Those guys are crystalline beings walking around wearing stone husks. And they can merge together to transform into one big unit that can crush a small starship in its hand. And they're also immune to the Force.

 

Horrible way to die... that and being eaten by a Hutt.

Other possible contenders might be Tofs and maybe Ssi-ruuk? Don't think the latter are strong but their tails would be pretty dangerous.

 

Considering the size of the rocks they throw, maybe, (at least for their size category), Ewoks are one of the stronger ones?

 

Duros can lift an entire canon over their heads.

 

Does that contradict the EU?

 

Bazel Warv always struck me as meant to be super strong in FOTJ, though dunno if that means Ramoans are Wookiee strength or not.

 

Since the B'rknaa's moon Indobok is really one giant B'rknaa, it seems that the only thing that could defeat the B'rknaa is something like the Death Star

 

If we're talking humanoids of comparable size, Esoomians can exceed Wookiee strength. (They were the only humanoid race in WEG with a higher Strength maximum than Wookiees, in fact.)

If we're not talking humanoids of comparable size, then the doors are wide open for every big sentient you've ever seen, from Oswaft to Duinuogwuin.

 

Why Humanoids? That would leave out things like Hutts, Ssi Ruuk, and Whiphids.

How about Sentients of roughly similar size.

 

I'd call Whiphids humanoid, and I *wouldn't* call Hutts similar in size.

That said, for what it's worth, all three of those races had lower maximum strength stats than Wookiees in WEG.

 

Was there ever an instance of a Wookiee fighting a Wampa?

 

One of the Tales comics had Chewie fight Wampas (though afaik he just shoot them).
