Oblivion's not doing so hot with teh critics...

Let's see if the next Hunger Games movie doesn't suck... And it's being co-written with Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire, 127 Hours, The Full Monty).

Arndt was only one of several writers on Oblivion, so the overall quality probably has very little to do with him. Same goes for Catching Fire.

I was "Sir, we've identified the Nerf Herder. He has a herd of nerfs," to be actual dialogue in the film so bad.

I'm still glad that Abrams will look over the script because when I watched Toy Story 3 I turned off the tv halfway through because the characters could not engage me.

Its bothering me just as much, but when I tried to edit it last night it would only let me modify the body of text, not the heading :/

Actually if people don't like any of the Hunger Games movies they probably shouldn't blame the writer of the movie they should blame the writer of the book. The first Hunger Games movie went almost a 100% straight from the book and I am sure 'Catching Fire' will as well. Problem that people might have with the movie adaptions of the book is that the book was written in the first person and most of the development was done by not so much reading what people were saying but instead reading what Katniss was thinking.

Arndt wasn't the only writer for Oblivion, Karl Gajdusek (who isn't that great of a writer, to be honest) and the director, Joseph Kosinski wrote the screenplay with Arndt.

When he busted our the Toy Story script and said "Yeah... I know what I'm doing." I lost it.

I don't envy the real Arndt. As many others have stated, writing a continuation of the saga that is both entertaining and has thematic significance is no easy task.

That video is quite funny. I wonder if actually feels a need to wear Star Wars shirts while scripting...

That video is hilarious! [face_laugh] I can't wait to hear from the real Michael Arndt though. I want to know what the man who has all the secrets for Episode VII thinks about taking on the burden of Star Wars. It must have been unreal for him when George Lucas asked him to do it.
