How is Darth Maul even still alive?

Cause the sister said that the sword was the only way to kill them. Both her and her father died by the sword but the son did not. they stressed soo much that the son wanted to leave the plannet, and if he survived the darkside would spin out of control, soon after maul comes back. When everyone, including sidious, has thought that he was dead all these years

 

In the show, Maul explained his survival to his brother while the Sith Hunters comic provided some visuals in the form of Maul's dreams. There is no eloquent explanation beyond Palpatine's monologue about the dark side.

 

Really enjoyed this comic. Wish it was publicized a bit more since it fills in a pretty huge background story in TCW

Palpatine explained how Maul survived could happen in ROTS when he talks about unatural things with the dark side. Maul being cut in half and not dead is unatural, the dark side allows things that is not supposed to happen.

 

Just because the writers can do anything doesn't mean they should. It damages your suspension of disbelief.

 

So flying through space like an F-16 and having sound in space is okay but having someone sliced in half is suddenly too much to take?

 

That's generally what space films/video games do. If there wasn't any sound, it'd be less pleasing to the ears.

I'm against resurrecting characters in fiction. It's shoddy writing.

 

Shoddy planning, leads to lame deaths and corny horny resurrections.

 

I personally think that it's kind of badass that Maul is so full of Sith rage and dark side hatred and Plagueis and Palpy generally being about cheating death that simply being angry enough kept him survivable. Like I'd assume it doesn't happen all that often but it worked for him here. As for his guts being chopped in half, eh, who's to say his biology works the same? Maybe his intestinal tract is in his elbow.
