If that's what you got out of it then great, that's a great message to send out. I'll be honest, I've not actually seen it. The premise just put me off completely. All I know is that it's about a 40 year old who out to lose his virginity.

Quite. Wild cats can often be seen fishing in small rivers and such. It's quite nice to watch. :)

Jedi_Lover I bet he wouldn't sit in the toilet if you flushed it while he was in there. :p

From what I remember from the movie the 40 year old virgin was not out to lose his virginity. His buddies were out to get him laid. The movie makes the virgin seem sweet...albeit nerdy, while his buddies come off as womanizing jerks. It is really a nice movie.

Alexis_Wingstar - I'll do that to him the next time I see him in the toilet. :p

Our older cat is like that. He will drink out of ANYTHING, sink, puddle, tap, the glass of water my mom has on her nightstand at night, but he won't drink out of a water bowl. Thankfully my kitten will drink out of her water bowl.

I think we can all agree...cats are weird. But they are so adorable! I am pretty sure the internet was created just so we could post photos of our cats...well, that and porn. :p

My soon-to-be-mine cat won't drink from her water dish, either. Rain or mud puddles, toilets, some nasty water leaking from the disposal, nasty water that collected on top of the camper, nasty water dripping from somewhere else... fine. Fresh, clean water? Won't touch it. Hopefully she'll drink the water at my apartment, though. It's town water. Mabel should love it.

The dog we had when I was growing up wanted his water dish in the bathroom. He had one in the kitchen with his food, but he would always jump in the tub and lick at the faucet until we gave him a dish there. It wasn't a bathtub we used (except to bathe him) so when he was young it would be in the bathtub since that's aparently where he wanted it and then when he got older and couldn't get in and out very well, it sat beside the tub.

He was a strange dog... that was by far the most 'normal' thing he did. <3

LOL mavjade we always somehow got pets with peculiar personality traits. The dog I grew up with was extremely intelligent, but also very stubborn. When we took him for a walk, if he stopped to smell something & we tried to get him to come along before he was ready, it was like his paws grew roots. We couldn't budge him. He was only 20 pounds & I was over five times that, and here I was putting my whole weight into pulling him, and he would NOT budge so much as 1/16 of an inch!

Another thing about him was he was friendly with 99.9% of people, including the neighbors who lived downstairs from us. Yet, he'd bark ferociously even at the neighbors when he heard them come into the common hallway. When we yelled at him to shut up, he went under the kitchen table and would growl/mumble... I swear it sounded like a grumpy old man complaining to himself, "stupid humans, I do my job and warn off intruders and they yell at me. Maybe I should let them get eaten next time. Blah-blah growl woof." While he was doing that, no amount of coaxing could get him out from under the table, not even offering cheese or cantaloupe which he loved. Sometimes he'd sulk there for an hour, then come out and be friendly again, but we'd have to let him come out in his own time.

He also had some feeding issues. He'd take a mouthful of food (dry, not canned) and take it into the living room put it down then eat each piece individually, then go back for more and repeat the process. Many times, he'd also play with his food... toss a piece in the air, pounce on it, jump up while shaking his head and toss it again, run and pounce again, and eventually eat it. It was really funny when he'd shake his head vigorously and toss it before meaning to, and lose track of just where he tossed it and had to hunt it down. I loved that silly mutt.

Alexis_Wingstar that's funny. My grandmother had a dog that wasn't allowed in the kitchen. The dog knew he had to stay in the family room. But if he smelled something cooking he would try to sneak into the kitchen but he would always keep one foot on the family room carpet. It was almost like he was saying, "Technically I am still in the family room."

My kids are a little weird. I was using the computer today and then my son got onto the computer. I am right handed and my kids are left handed. So I see him using the computer with his arms crossed. Meaning he is using his left hand to utilize the mouse that was on the right side of the computer. I see him doing this all the time. I keep telling him, "You do know that mouse can be brought over to the left side of the computer."

My grandfathers dog did the taking his kibble out to another room and ate it one piece at a time, and she was about 50 pounds. I always wondered how she ate enough.

My dog did strange things with his food too, including tossing it around; We always said he was killing it first. We gave him people fod every night, "super supper" (he lived to be almost 18 for a bread that usually lives 13 to 15 years and acording to the vet was always super health other than his genetic skin issues ) and he wanted what we had, salad had to have a little dressing, chili had to have cheese, etc. We once gave him chilli and didn't put any cheese on it and proceded to bark at the counter until I put a little cheese and then he was perfectly happy. If something was too hot to eat he would knock it out onto the floor and then bark quietly at it until it was cool enough to eat.

I could go on and on about the crazy things he did (including hearding, singing to and nesting stuffed penguins) but I think my favorite was the time he was doing his 'I want out' whine which was very distinctive. I asked him if the wanted out and he barked excitedly, so I got up and walked to the door and he proceeded to jump up into my chair. 8-} I don't think anyone could ever convince me he didn't know exactly what he was doing... I was in his favorite chair.

I am experiencing something I haven't experienced for months. I'm sweating! I went outside in shorts and I am sweating. It's not even that hot outside...maybe 68 degrees. But it was snowing two days ago. This is so weird...but I like it!

Oh, I forgot to tell another way Freddy (the dog I grew up with) was stubborn. Whenever he got sick and the vet would prescribe pills, it was very hard to get him to take it. we tried burying it in his food, and he'd eat his food and leave the pill at the bottom of the dish. We wrapped cheese around it (the over-processed American cheese that was soft enough to mash onto it so that when we wrapped it around the pill, part of it actually stuck to it) and he would manage to eat all the cheese and spit out the pill whole without a trace of the cheese. We literally had to have two people to give him the pill: One to use both hands to pry and keep his mouth open; the second to jam the pill down his throat, too far for his tongue to worm it out, just short of choking him.

He was so smart, he learned how to tell who we were calling on the phone. This is back when we had rotary phones (no cell phones), and I'd always call the time and weather to see what the temperature was outside was to see if I needed a jacket or not. He would get excited whenever I dialed the weather because he knew he was going to go out. He'd run to the door and bark and wag his tail like crazy and jump around, run to me then back to the door. One time, I decided to test out whether or not he really knew what we were dialing. I called a friend first and chatted for a bit, and he just stayed laying where he was. Then after hanging up with my friend, I called the weather, and he jumped up and got excited. He knew the rhythm of the dialing!

Jedi_Lover, sweating when it's 68 degrees? Wow. It's 65 here, and i have on jeans, a t-shirt and a jean jacket on and still a bit chilled... but then I've always been on the cold side. Everyone else would be warm or hot and i'd be cold. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact my blood pressure borders on the line between low and normal. [face_thinking]

Sorry if anybody posted this already, but I just saw this and am in shock. Shannon McRandle just got diagnosed with cancer. Supposed to start chemo next week.

What an awful thing...she's younger than I am.

Yeah, someone posted about that a while back. Does anyone have a link? Not that I doubt the validity of it, I just want to see any details or know where I can go for updates.

Edit: I found her Facebook page. Like I said before, it's sad, but they are doing amazing things with treatments. My grandmother had 3 different types of cancer over the past 30 years. The last type was a rare internal melanoma or something. There was very little hope for her, but she survived (granted, she does have colostomy bags now).

That sucks about McRandle being ill. :(

What a nice day it was today. It got up to 70 degrees. And then I remember why I don't like Spring that much...the spiders. They suddenly are crawling all over the place like a scene from the movie Arachnophobia. I hate spiders! I hate them worse than Indiana Jones hates snakes.

Every spring I buy those gallon jugs of bug poison and spray EVERYWHERE inside and outside the house. I have no idea how my cats have lived this long. I just can't tolerate seeing spiders running around at a creepy unnaturally fast speed. I've got Speedy Gonzalez spiders here. It was snowing two days ago...where did these big spiders come from?

Ack! I just killed two large spiders running across the room. So I grab the bug spray and laid down poison all around the room where I sleep. And now I am coughing from the poison and wondering if the fumes are dangerous. Darn it. The kids are crashed out on the couches after falling asleep while watching TV...so I am stuck in my poison laced, spider infested room. This sucks.

Ugh J_L, you are giving me the heebie-geebies! What you are descibing sounds like a nightmare, I HATE spiders.

I found out yesterday there is a decent size park about a mile from my house with a hiking trail that's about 1.5 miles and I'm so excited to walk it! (I'm at work so I can't go today. :( ) One of the things I miss about WV is going for a hike in the woods, and while there are places around here, I'd have to drive to get to them. I'm sure it won't be like WV but still... trees!! :D
I am hoping to drive to Vermont some weekend this summer and really go hiking, I just have to find someone to go with me.

There's a nice trail less than a quarter mile from where I live. I even acquired a free walking stick from there... There are plenty fallen branches along the trail and I found one the perfect length and a comfortable width for mr grip. I used duct tape to stap a flashlight to it so I'll have my other hand free to take a drink when I walk at night.

It was a nice day here too with finally spring coming and the flowers from the bulbs showing their colors.
And spiders? I love them. They eat and devour the really bad bugs and flies and mosquitos that can be pestering you or suck your blood.

I love spiders outside my house. Inside I don't tolerate them.

In my yard there are bats and snakes that eat bugs, but I don't like them in my house either. I do admit that I am not going to try to catch a spider to put it outside. I have caught bats twice and put them outside and I would try to catch a snake to get it outside.

Strangely I will catch daddy-long legs and put them outside. But those guys are in a different classification Order than spiders. So they aren't really spiders...so I am not scared of them...even though they look like spiders. That is so weird.

I just had to look daddy long-legs up on wikipedia and there are some species of spiders that get called daddy long-legs just because they have long skinny legs. And there are also the non-spider arachnids that get called daddy long-legs, too.

I don't mind spiders in my apartment. I don't mind scooping them up and relocating them when I have to. And I enjoy watching jumping spiders lurking around on warm days. They're my little windowsill friends.
