I remember 2004 facebook when it was college kids only and you legitimately used it to find your other classmates to plan studying and get homework help.

Ahhh... those were the days.

2008, that's when I signed up.

 

I remember when I signed up in 2007 you had to prove you were a college student, by having to register with a ".edu" email. And had to have your friends "prove" you were in certain network.

cuz they changed facebook on me AGAIN, dammit!

why can't they just leave a good thing alone?

 

Remember back in [year] when I got into [popular thing that wasn't as popular that year]? That was great, [same popular thing] was so much better back then.

Same here... I don't miss all the annoying 'gifts,' invitations for little green patch, Farmville, buttons, quizzes... FB used to be obnoxious as ****. I don't know... maybe it's still obnoxious. I don't use it all that much.

 

This was way before Farmville/Mafia Wars!

All the quizzes were awesome though (well, at least the ones I did! ), and the entourage and music playlist apps were cool!

Do I remember facebook from 2007/2008? Sure don't. I never had a Myspace account and I still don't use twitter. I do however wave my cane at neighborhood children when they tread upon my lawn.

 

I agree with Ghost on this...Facebook was better when it was for college kids. Now, I only check it occasionally. Too much over-sharing everywhere.

 

I joined in early 08. Whilst I am a bit nostalgic for the old design, one thing I certainly don't miss from then was how people would cram all those add-ons onto their page - one friend had probably every add-on ever designed for Facebook (games, quizzes, trivia, quotes of the day, hugs, gifts etc) on his page which took 10 mins to load and an hour to scroll though just to find his wall to post on. I was actually grateful when Facebook redesigned the profile page in 08 and put in the tabs, which moved out all that stuff onto another page so you didn't have to see it.

I laugh at people bitching whenever Facebook changes. At this point they could change back to its previous revision and the same people that complained about this update will whine.

You can still do what you need to and talk to who you want to, so what if they always change the layout?

 

That's true. I remember people I knew who were two years behind me and had it when they were seniors in high school.

 

Remember typewriters?

 

I went through most of primary school (late 80s/early 90s) with one in the house - used to type up my assignments with it. No spell check unfortunately.
