Cad Bane does he contradict the EU

I can't unsee Duros anymore, I laugh out loud every time I read it somewhere.

 

If Cad Bane is Duros, but he's the only Duros I've seen with face attachments. How do I know he's actually Duros?

 

There's one Duros in Chalmun's Cantina in Episode IV to compare him with.

They don't have the face apparatuses that Cad Bane has. I can't think of another Duros in the entire canon with those same type of breathing tubes.

He's Duros.

 

The "attachments" are, in truth, "contradiction tubes" in place to leech away the damaging nature his existence has on the rest of the universe.

Indeed, the entire Jedi policy of "non-attachment" was in fact referring to their desire to remain in step with EU, without contradiction and need for such face devices, and has nothing to do with emotions at all. Sadly this understanding was perverted and reinterpreted over the long millennia.

 

It's because he's Duros.

 

So that's why so many Sith in TOR wear stupid looking breathing masks.

Seriously, why does he have the breathing tubes?

So apparently this is still a thing. Just goes to show how great and far reaching a question/statement thing "Cade Bane does he contradict the EU" really is. Philosophers will be debating for generations.

His breathing tubes create plausible doubt about whether he is or is not a Duros, something that would be without question if he were not to have the tubes, so like Random Comments says, the tubes are directly to establish plausible contradiction.

 

I sometimes wonder if Lucas spends some of his free time, or has a dedicated secret position for in Lucasfilm, coming up with ways to contradict the EU. Just to see how people will react. What else does The Clone Wars tv show exist for than to contradict the existing clone wars canon?

 

So are you saying the contradiction tubes were really created for this:

 

I thought for sure he was a Chiss.
(Which would be hilarious, because it would show how much diversity the Chiss as a species have when comparing Cad Bane to Thrawn)

 

And I think you're losing sight of the thread title, again.

There is no question mark. "Cad Bane does he contradict the EU" is, and has always been, a statement of fact.
