Like I said, keep on trying to crash through if it makes you happier. You are still trying to change the subject and still using the debating fallacy argumentum ad popularem. You are therefore guilty of intellectually dishonest debating tactics. I ignored your link because it's not an answer or relevant to what we were discussing. You're not worth further debate because you're not amenable to it, and I don't believe in argumentiam ad nauseam.

Not losing. Just unwilling to deal with someone who can't stick to intellectually honest tactics in debate, of which there are only two: debate the facts, or debate the logic. Changing the subject, which you more or less seem to be admitting to since you're not denying it, is intellectually dishonest. It's also known as creating a straw man.

The US public education system isn't exactly widely revered either, the impression I get from many is that it's far inferior to European education models. So I'm not sure how sending children to a state-run mediocre school system is going to stop a dumb generation.

I don't think it's great here either, but that's what you get when politicians decide who should be taught what. The best people to decide what should be taught are the educators, and both parents & children should have a say in education.

 

If a parent's job is to prepare their children to succeed in the world as adults, then it's abusive. I think that home schooling should only be permitted in cases where parents can prove to the state that they are qualified to teach. Parents should be required to have some kind of certification. Maybe not a bachelors in education, but there should be some kind of test to prove they have a minimum competence in the material that kids need to graduate from high school successfully. If they can't pass it, they can't home school. Period. It doesn't have to be a bureaucratic mess. It could be something simple like sit for the ACT/SAT and score at a minimum level of college competency, e.g. minimum test score of 21 on ACT English or 530 on SAT Critical Reading.
minimum score of 24 on ACT Math or 540 on SAT Math. Send your scores in and get certified to home school your kids. Something like that.
