I really wanted to find some original Aragorn imagery that wasn't tied to either the modern movies or the trippy cartoons of the 70's. While I like the movies well enough, I kind of hate how it has set so much of the LOTR canon's imagery in stone.

 

Jaime Lannister, one of the finest swords in an incredibly martial culture by the age of fifteen.

 

And at age 150, King Elessar will still be able to make the Kingslayer eat his guddam sword. Aragorn. again, not really a contest.

Actually I'm switching my vote, Jaime wasn't even the best sword in Westeros, and Aragorn was more experienced at peak.

 

I'd like to see Sam try to take out a Uruk-hai with a frying pan...

Anyhoo, this is certainly a duel I'd like front row seats to.

Oh, one more thing: If he had one, Aragorn certainly wouldn't have ****** his sister.

 

Aragorn also dealt well with Nazgul, and those things make Orcs or Urak-hai look like crap

 

Hm, I think Jaime is skilled enough to have a real chance but Aragorn is 87 years old and in the prime of his life. So he has a long lifetime's (by normal human standards) experience over Jaime at swordplay. Also, he's 6'6" (according Wiki) and his Dúnedain lineage means he's got better genetics so give me Aragorn

What a surprise. Especially with two active threads in the JCC that mention him regularly, based on the very popular HBO and book series.

I don't watch TV or read those books..or hardly any books for that matter.

Aragorn. I wish the tv show had shown a bit more of Jaime fighting so I could gauge it better but as others point out Aragorn fights fanatsy monsters and hoards of bad guys. Styles make fights, but Aragorn has all the dge. And he has Narsil. That's gotta help.
